Just like me.... Before the internet age I'd spend a fair amount of money on books and magazines to learn stuff that helped me become self employed.

Now, thanks to the internet all the info I need is there, for a relatively low monthly payment...

Yes, instant information (or disinformation) at your fingertips.. lol. Yea, when I left I brought all my CD/DVD and books. Books are the only thing I cannot access as most are out of print classic business books.

Magazines are all disappearing, something about being able to quickly scan through hard copies versus pages of a PDF. But you can always print a page or two. Learning things is much faster now also- video how-to tutorials on youtube are excellent the most obtuse fixes can be found.

Try Amazon.com, it's where I get all my books at. Or ebay, Abes Books etc.

I like going to restaurants where the owner is the chef, and he is there to greet you when you walk in.

"Jiro Dreams of Sushi", loved that documentary.

Contrast that with any number chain restaurants so popular in the US.

I don't like chain food, never have except Taco Bell as a kid when the menu was decent, rarely do I have to eat it. These chains will cut the meat in Nebraska, throw it in a plastic bag full of marinade and ship it out to CA in a box. Then the server has no idea what is in the Marinade, nor does the "cook" as the plastic bag is blank or thrown away. I have some food issues, so tough to deal with and tiring to go through the chain restaurant "Guess what is in the recipe" drill always. I walk into the restaurants many I repeat and the owners and cooks are right there.

Back in LA, we had a shopping mall that was built late in the last city I lived in CA. All chains, all employees who hated their jobs. The smaller places most all left or went out of business, rental rates for mall space is expensive, only a chain could survive the first 3 years that make or break restaurants.

And there are all kinds of local, family owned restaurants all over the place, along with chain ones. Again, we have choice.

Maybe where you are living in FL now, but in LA or suburbs.... changed so much with rents increasing, mini malls and taco shops which I do like, but burger places disappearing, etc. $600K is now the hyper inflated median house price from where I used to hang my hat. You have to sell a lot of Taco's or Burgers to afford rent in surrounding retail spaces.

Funny guy you are, I need to look into that obscure company called Amazon. Haha. Access meant they were unavailable anywhere, out of print, yep. I bought several rare ones for over $150 each before leaving the states. I didn't write that clearly. Oh, and I have an english book store I frequent down here, all used. Something else that is disappearing in the US.

Speaking of disappearing. Not a healthy thing.

Americans are happy with McFood and McJobs if it saves a few pennies. Happy with crap made in China. So happy that 30% of the population is taking some form of anti-depressant medication.

The striking thing about the US every time I visit is how much pent up anger and unhappiness the people carry around. Amazon is the perfect employer for such a country.
McFood and McJobs... LOL. No wonder half the population is McFat and McSick!!!

Black male Democrat tells white female Republican to "kill yourself!" The Democrat has a criminal conviction for attacking a reporter and now is blocking reporters who are reporting on him.

If the races & political parties were reversed the media would have a field day with this

Yes, firefighters must be representative of every minority group in the community.
Can’t wait to be rescued by an old, fat, transgender woman of colour in a wheelchair.

96% of firefighters are men. Let's make 50% women and see what happens. Good luck.

Robby Starbuck @robbystarbuck

I was sent this video where Desmond appears with an adult and repeats the phrase "LGBTPQ". That P stands for pedophilia. The adult discusses taking Ketamine and 11 year-old Desmond sniffs an imaginary bump off his arm.

Where is child protective services?

Video Clip from a livestream wherein 9-year old "drag queen" Lactatia shows a familiarity with ketamine use. I had to to research this but apparently ketamine is often ground to a powder and inhaled for a dreamlike or hallucinogenic state of mind...

This was on Tuckers show tonight, it was a good show I assume you watched. He repeated the guys interview tonight he had earlier. He is the same moron trying to get a law to pass that requires anyone who wants to buy a handgun to give up their social media passwords for screening. lol.

From what I know of child protective services, they would probably approve. You really want to destroy a kid, call the child protective services.

Hyperbole. That would never happen because physical tests are part of the training you need to pass in order to join.

Could be a strong, fit transgender woman of color though.

Women can and do pass firefighter training.

We have defeated ISIS in Syria, my only reason for being there during the Trump Presidency.
Donald J. Trump‏Verified account @realDonaldTrump 2h2 hours ago

Getting push back from Republicans, General said something different earlier this month. That we needed to be there for stabilization.

"Trump ally Lindsey Graham calls a withdrawal from Syria “an Obama-like mistake,” arguing that it will "be seen by Iran and other bad actors as a sign of American weakness in the efforts to contain Iranian expansion."

"We have not defeated ISIS in Syria or Iraq. We have, however, left Raqqa and Mosul in ruins, filled with dead bodies and unexploded ordnance, and cut recovery aid. There is every reason to expect the group’s resurgence."

I guess Putin gave him his marching orders.

If I had to guess. It is an "If you(Congress) are going to stop our involvement in the Yemen war, Ill stop our involvement in the Syrian war. (So Trump gets some of the war stopping credit)

And McRich. People living in poverty in the US and other western cultures have a better life than the middle class of many countries. #1 reason for migration to the US is opportunity and freedom from hunger.

He signed it. Are you still shocked they lie?

So you are now a forensics expert on signature analysis now? Looks suspicious to me. Fake News CNN published it too.
