NamesCon Global, located at NamesCon.Global, is the largest convention for domain investors. This years convention is sponsored by .Global, a New Gtld registry.(Go.Global)

Last year the featured live auction at the convention primarily contained .Com and seemed to neglect the possibilities that some of the New Gtld's could/may bring to the market.

Will this years auction, being sponsored by a New Gtld registry, welcome the New Gtld's?

If New Gtld's are not included, is it odd to have a convention (auction) sponsored by a New Gtld registry and not welcome the New Gtld's? What message would this send?

If they do welcome New G's in the auction, will they sell? Is it best to let the market decide?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
NamesCon is established mainly to promote domain names and get more eyeballs and larger participation...

It needs to promote all irrespective of any particular extension...
If it can promote ngTLDs on global level events...
It will be on right track to get public attention and increasing awareness of purpose of different TLDs which can lead to letting people know there are more options available to register and enhance their web presence...

My opinions...

It is my prediction that New G's will be there in larger amounts comparing to previous years.

Whether they will sell or not depends largely on what inventory will be selected, and who will be in the audience in auction :)

In early voting, although a small sample, it looks like more people hope your prediction is correct. :xf.smile:

As far as inventory selection, I agree. I have noticed questionable selections on many .com's in the past. Of course that deserves an entire thread of it's own for the reasons behind that.

It would be ironic that auction platform located at ngtld doesn't auction ngtlds.

It will be a dead auction if they fill it with gtlds.

I totally disagree. Check with namebio with .online sales. .online extension is growing big.
