I received an offer for 40k for just the domain name (not the site or the branding around it). Would you take that offer or hold out for a better one?

That is a very very good offer, it could be years until you get another offer of that calibre.

It really depends, do you need the money or not? If not then counter.

I would take it. But before it I would put in Sedo or Flippa auction to see if I would get a better offer.

Yeah I would take that 40k IMO

Good luck!

Take it, I'd say that's a fair valuation.

$40k is good. But with the right buyer you could get more.

CarInsurance.com — Sold for $49.7 million
Insurance.com — Sold for $35.6 million

No no no. At this price level do not do that. You risk pissing off the potential buyer.

That is my opinion only but I think many others would agree with me.

You have the upper hand with all this branding and active website. Makes you not too eager to sell (which you aren't either). If it is a straight forward 40k with no prior negotiations, I assume the buyer has a much higher price they can afford. 200k counter offer maybe?

sell the name and start a new project, add little bit to cover taxes, it’s a great name an costs more, for this reason, only you can tell yourself the path, if you don’t have plans, sell it.

Is the website fake? Entering a zip code doesn’t work when searching for insurance

I appreciate your feedback. I am in no rush so I agree that a counter is in order.

Thank you both for your opinion. I am not sure this person would see either of those sites but I suppose it may be risky if they do. I guess it will depend on the answer to my counter. We'll see how it goes.
