Hmm, great question. Do you have a source that claims that hiding the Whois-info is temporary? I'd love it to be a permanent solution (edited).

I personally do not see any way in which the GDPR can be circumvented. This means the Whois will remain as it currently is to a certain extent. If you have legitimate legal reasons to be made aware of a site owners details, there should be clear procedures in place to allow you to request access.
