Another Rookie here: My name is Mark Engleman, from Freehold NJ. I'm 70 years old and my once vigorous brain is easily confused, so if I say or do something stupid, it's ignorance not bad manners.

I learn best by immersion, so I do not have any particular questions at the moment. My short term goal is to get a respectable handle on selling domains as I've built up an inventory over the years. When I began online 10 years ago, domaining seemed more interesting than other online earning vehicles. Regrettably the course I took actually soured me on the topic, but in the last year I revisited the subject and my initial enthusiasm for the topic has been revitalized.

My longer term goal is to develop a retirement income as I'm retiring from my brick & mortar business
at the end of the year. I want to become a “good citizen” and develop productive long term relationships.

Welcome to NPs @dobbsie ! An interesting past, with holding some domains for a fair while, enthusiasm followed by souring and now enthusiastic again. I hope (and expect) that NPs will help sustain your enthusiasm and will provide information and skills to help you be more profitable.

Welcome @dobbsie - it's nice to have you at NamePros. You're off to a good start already since you have prior experience with domaining and already own some domains. You'll find all kinds of helpful information in the threads here.
Best of luck with your retirement gig!

Hello @dobbsie .. and welcome to NamePros! :)

There is so much free information out there that newcomers should try to absorb as a foundation before putting too much money into domaining (including paying for courses). Aside from here, I definitely suggest you go back and listen to at least the last couple of years worth of Domain Sherpa Reviews. After that point if you still feel like you want structured learning I would suggest DNAcademy, a course put together by the original host of Domain Sherpa, @Michael Cyger.

That being said, you seem to have already jumped in head first and acquired a number of domains of the years .. lol .. so now would be a good time to take a short break from buying to get a good pulse on the actual quality of your domains. Maybe put up a few in the appraisal/valuation section of the forum to see what other domains have to say. Without know your domains it's otherwise impossible to get a gauge on how you're doing overall.

Anyhow .. best of luck to you going forward! :)
