In short, I got a $120 offer on this domain: d/e/d/i/s/ dot/net and I'm wondering what you think I should counter with?

I actually just purchased it for future use but thought I'd play this out and see where it gets. Usually I have a set floor price in mind but I'm kinda biased towards the name so could do with some insights from people not attached to it :)

I think you should counter with higher price...acording to your interests.... I don't know any specific meaning related to this name but it is short and can be used as a brand..

Here we see lot of people telling about countering with high price and settling somewhere middle... usually this middle will be more than double of the initial offer they got....I noticed these points in completed sales thread...

If you are in no hurry and there is lot of time for next renewal...there is no harm in testing with high price...

Good luck

Thanks for the input! Tech people refer to dedicated servers as d/e/d/i/s/ a lot. I have a couple of clients in the hosting industry and that's basically why I got it. For these clients it would make a kickass domain, especially as they have love for the .net extention unlike domainers :)

I'm in no hurry. I'll renew it for sure as like I said, if I'd develop it I could easily make the same amount in a couple of months and if I don't it will definitely sell down the road. My tech guy said he'd give me a $100 for it without thinking twice :) Besides, I'm not in need of sales right now.

Hey that nice to know...

And I learned a term and it's relevance to usage..thanks..

That gives you a great scope to pitch higher price and of course you got already plans for that name...if the response is not positive..

Go for it...
And update us of you don't mind..

Not a premium but still a decent name that makes sense in .net.
I normally don't bother with such low offers, especially when I have a plan in mind for the domain name.
I would request a more compelling offers to make it worthwhile. On the other hand, I like to say that the first offer received is often the last you'll ever get.

Thanks. It's never gonna be a big sale for sure. I'm not a fan of low sales as well as it's not worth it if you take into account the time spent. That being said, the occasional small sale helps with renewals. I usually use amounts like this to add an extra year of registration to my long term investments.

Lol, 1mil it is :) I always counter eversince I sold a domain (on behalf of a friend... unfortunately) for nearly 5k while the buyer was initially offering $100.

And that wasn't even a premium name but something they just wanted to own.

Thanks for the input!

The name makes sense in .net, you have a use for it, hence - counter.

Try $1200, settle for mid to high xxx
