Afternic Fast Transfer Vs Sedo MLS

NameSilo
Watch
Which is better Afternic Fast Transfer or Sedo MLS?

If you activiate both on same domain what will happen? Because some registrars are listed in both of them like dynadot and name.com.

Also isn't it better to list the domains directly in Dynadot aftermarket and Godaddy aftermarket? Rather than making them linked to Sedo or Afternic.

One more thing: in Sedo it says activate Sedo MLS near my domains, although I already see
my domains showing as premium in name.com for example, same with Afternic it says opt-in to Fast Transfer altough I already see my domain as premium in Goddady..

This is very confusing to me..

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
when I click your link it just shows me about their service. No marketplace like afternic where there are thousands of domains to look at

+ they have their own partners to distribute your listings like various WHOIS services etc.
Syndication can be switched ON in your UniMarket options.

This days only Afternic fast transfer is important! All others you can basically forget. Sedo mls basically worthless at least from my experience

This is because GoDaddy is NOT covered by SedoMLS.
Almost all Afternic sales are via GoDaddy.

Yeah, I have noticed that some came from aliyun registrar, but its like 5%-10%

Sedo replied that GoDaddy is absent even in their roadmap.
So looks that GoDaddy simply doesn't want to work with Sedo... they care about Afternic only.

Who controls godaddy is in power. But it has good explanation, godaddy has most end users as customers. I mean dynadot for example has mostly rhose cheapskates from namepros, who stay up late to get a good cupon in black friday to get domains for $0.50 each! I mean you cant sell domains for 10k to those

Basic MLS/DLS is designed to distribute your listings among Sedo/Afternic partners.
Premium (FULL) partners support AUTOtransfer if domain was sold.
What is hard to understand here???
One of my domains at NetworkSolutions.com is under a 60-day registrar lock. I added the same for sale at Afternic. Now that domains shows up for sale in the search path at NetworkSolutions.com for that price but the same.domain doesn't show up as for sale in search path at GoDaddy.

1. So is this scenario because of 60 days lock?
2. After 60 days if I do not opt in to Afternic FT, will the domain still show up as for sale at GD?

When you have added it to Afternic?
This process is not instant... wait at least 24h before checking your Afternic domain at GoDaddy...

Each registrar has its own policy for Afternic/Sedo feed...
To show it in real-time mode or to use the cached version like GoDaddy...

I looked up, and actually 2 sales via SEDO MLS this year. Small % off all sales, but still. Not totally worthless..

One sale via Uniregiustry...

But mostly Afternic or Afternic Fast transfer

Sedo is painful now as you have to jump through hoops to even get your domain on there platform so for me is afternic is the best even if you dont park there sedo we get many sales but not as many

Afternic vs Sedo - USA vs EU
Sedo the best marketplace for CCTLD and dashes domains.
Afternic the best for GTLD.

I sell about ten Afternics through one Sedo.

On afternic, fast transfer often leads to much slower payment.

@Joe Styler - Regarding fast transfer sale.. If the domain is transferred immediately upon purchase to the buyer then why must the seller wait 8-10 days to receive payment for a fast transfer sale? This is something I feel should be resolved.

It will be sped up but there will still be a lag. We take time to review the transaction for fraud and then the payment is made by us to a 3rd party who then pays you. They take a couple business days in the US to complete the payment.

If the transaction is in fact fraud how does one get their domain back then?

We give it to you, same way we took it. But once we pay you, we keep the domain no matter what and you keep the money.

Sedo "offer views" are the offer views only at sedo.com or may include the views at MLS partners?
Any idea on this?

One of my domains listed at Sedo, while MLS was active, suddenly started to receive 5-10 offer views daily and the number of offer views was growing every day. Normally the domain doesn't receive 5 offer views in a year. It's a one word nTLD, might be a valuable domain, but not much in my opinion. I have more valuable .com domains receiving not more than 3-5 offer views monthly.

I removed its BIN as I couldn't figure out what's going on, as you know, MLS is disabled if you remove BIN. The number of "offer views" has stopped since MLS disabled. I wonder if the "offer views" has stopped for lack of BIN or lack of MLS.

* The domain is not landing at Sedo and doesn't receive traffic to its landing page elsewhere.
* I don't promote my domains, don't do outbound, sell passively.
* Its expiration date is not near to say the recent peak in interest may be of possible drop catchers.

"Offer views" are related to Sedo lander only... It is also not filtered, so every bot will be counted.
Probably, this traffic is from MLS backlinks at various WHOIS services...

Premium means AUTOtransfer.
And nothing more.
This statement contradicts with Afternic's description of Fast Transfer here:

Afternic gets your domain in front of buyers all over the world. Every domain listed with us is promoted as a Manual Transfer domain. But making your domain a Fast-transfer domain gives it an extra level of exposure. Fast-transfer domains reach 75 million+ potential buyers each month and generate the highest average sales price. Fast-transfer is available for .com, .net, .org, .de, .biz, .pw and .info domain names that have a buy now price set. The maximum price is $100000. The domain must also be registered with a supporting registrar.

Two key benefits come with having a fast-transfer domain.

  1. The domain is listed with the largest domain resellers, so more potential buyers see it.
  2. The domain can be transferred immediately, which buyers love because they get immediate control of the domain after they buy it.
@Joe Styler I'm curious how Manual Transfer and Fast Transfer exposure differ? Does it mean that some of Afternic partners are promoting Fast Transfer domains only?

Syndication can be switched ON in your UniMarket options.
Thanks for this hint! here is detailed instruction how to do that

Fast transfer sells more name because of the wider network.

From the afternic website:
Domain names are seen by 35 million+ potential buyers each month through the Standard Network. They also receive dedicated sales support, and use our transaction service to transfer from seller to buyer.

The Premium Network differs from the Standard Network two important ways. First, the resellers promote the domain name with their buy now price for immediate purchase, without counteroffers from the seller or bidding at auction. Second, fast-transfer domains are transferred to the buyer immediately.

Making your domain a fast-transfer domain gives you the highest level of exposure--75 million+ potential buyers each month at the highest average sales prices. Fast-transfer domains must have a buy now price and be registered through GoDaddy, DynaDot, DomainDiscover, TierraNet, Network Solutions, Register.com, Register.com Global Partnership Group, eNom, eNomCentral, BulkRegister, Name.com, Hover, EuroDNS, DomainMonster.com, 123 Reg, DomainBox, Heart Internet, Regtons, MyDomain, Domain.com, Dotster, Namesilo, Hexonet, NamePal, Epik, Rebel.com, or Internet.bs.
