information Top Topics: How Would You Invest $1,000?; Help! I've Had No Sales...

NameSilo
In this week’s Top Topics, an investor asks for advice on his investments after spending $500 on domain registrations. Elsewhere, we ask domainers to share the highest price they’ve paid for a name and another domainer asks for opinions on how best to spend a spare $1,000 on domain names.

I Spent Over $500 and I Need Direction

Domain investing can have a low barrier of entry thanks to the relatively small cost of hand-registering a domain name. The thought of buying a domain for $10 and flipping it for thousands is appealing to new investors, but in practice, it's far harder than that.

After spending over $500 on hand-registering domains, this investor is looking for advice on what to do. Are these names worth anything? Should they continue registering domains? The community has given plenty of advice.

No Sales

What do you do if you have a portfolio of names are you're not producing any sales at all? This is the problem facing an investor this week. As you might expect, other domainers have been forthcoming with advice and have given various opinions from being proactive with producing sales to changing strategy completely.

What would you advise in this situation?

What Is the Most You've Paid for a Domain?

In domain investing, there are many different strategies that can be utilized in order to be a successful investor. Some hand register names whilst others acquire domains privately or through the aftermarket, which can become expensive. The question here is simple, what's the most you've ever paid for a domain name?

As you might expect, responses have been varied with some domainers spending low three-figures or less, while others have spent five- or six-figures on a single name.

Where Should I Invest a Spare $1,000?

This domain investor has $1,000 spare to invest in domain names. With an existing portfolio of varied names, the investor is looking for advice on other domain markets to invest in. So far, domainers have recommended a strong .COM domain, five-letter .COM's and brandable names. How would you invest $1,000?

Or buy a few nice domains in an auction on godaddy for example.
