Got a $50 offer for
StoutHemp.com
Having a hard time coming up with a price. I don’t want to put to price wrong on the counter.
I did Namebio both words.
If I had to put a number on a offer. $200-$300
Still new to domaining.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Ended up getting $1000.00 through Efty

Good going! I never was driven to learn the retail domain game, but I am now off to "Efty" to take a look.

congrats on your sale, I think it could have sold for more because the buyer went from $50 to $750. but a profit is a profit. Wish you hsve many more sales @MurphCo

Congrats! Nice sale. Although i agree it could cost tens fold for end users in a year or so.

Was it your occasional purchase, or you are actively in canna niche?

Actively in canna/hemp/cbd niche. Started domaining about 3 months ago, so was just focusing things I know

This name has two possible uses fabric hemp or beer hemp not anything to do with cannabis industry. The person contacting you is a domainer who thinks he can flip it. I would counter higher unless you just want it sold then counter lower.

why would you counter lower!? Terrible advice. You either accept his offer or counter higher not counter lower O_o

$10 purchase, hand reg’d
3 month hold time.

I would counter at $950 if you don't mind risking a $40 profit. He / she / they will probably counter a little higher than their original offer and then you can decide. I would be quick though as people usually change their minds if you leave it too long - it's happened to me several times.

If you would have read the entire thread, it could save your time from writing this useless comment and our time from reading it.

No offense please.

I think your comment is far more useless but I agree I should have read it all.

Congrats on the sale and how you handled the negotiation. I don't invest in, or know, this niche at all, but did a quick NameBio search of domain names that end in the word hemp in .com extension so far in 2018. There have been 20 sales with an average price of $754. Only 3 of the sales topped $1000. When I (not very expertly) compare your name to the list of 20 I would say you are in top half but I think you did well with the price you got. Congratulations again on a fine first sale @MurphCo.

Appreciate it! I have a lot to learn. It was a lot of back and fourth on the negotiation, which was a pretty fun rollercoaster.

Congrats on the sale! I think you handled it very well.

To people saying the price might be too low: could be, I don't know the hemp domain potential too well. However, judging by his join date (september), hold time (3 months) and the fact he stated he is new to domaining, this might be his first mentionable sale. That is a huge moment. I think closing your first sale for a decent price might be more important than getting everything out of the deal.

@MurphCo : Just to be sure: It looks like you did well with hand regging your first names (I cannot judge how many names you have registered), just remember that this does not mean most names will sell. Most names people register will not sell, so don't go overboard in regging new names. Keep your quality filters and invest this money wisely (also look at godaddy closeouts for possible quality names).

You are at a good place for somebody who just started, so you might have an eye for domaining and do well.

I hand reg’d 420 names, I need one more $1000 sale to break even. I just kind of accepted, I’m going to have sales where people flip it for more money. Hopefully I learn what to watch for from those sales. Thanks for the message.
