I like using the site

www.speedtest.net

Probably one of the best uses for a .net address I've seen.

Gave me an idea to actually post my internet speed.

Today is a slow day, I usually get up to 300 Mbps

What speeds are you getting?

Post a screenshot to verify.

I live next to a farm and the phone line comes on phone poles across the fields.

Upgraded to fibre (to the cabinet) a couple of months ago and speed is now significantly improved for this very rural neighbourhood (previously download was in region of 2.5 Mb/s) !!!

Ping: 86ms
Upload: 0.93 Mb/s
Download: 13.74 Mb/s

I can only get FTC where I am but happy with the speed being achieved. However I use 2 different providers that use different networks after the cabinet and you can see there is a substantial difference in speeds achieved.

Primary Connection - Plusnet
17ms Ping
35.51 Download
7.52 Upload

Backup Connection - TalkTalk
22ms Ping
19.45 Download
5.71 Upload

Notice the 870MB down and the speed of 340 MBPS posted above is decent for the basement going through cement walls

I have HughesNet
Download is 6 Mbps during the day and 46 Mbps at night.
Upload is 0.25 Mbps during the day and 0.32 Mbps at night.
Even though the day and night upload speeds are about the same,
FTP uploading can be very difficult during the day.
I want to see an upload speed that will support a server.
If you have a fast upload, please list the city and your internet service provider.

For most users even 20 Mbps can be enough... ISP speed is not a bottleneck.
CPU is the most important part for comfortable surfing... Because modern internet depends on Javascript...
So the more JS elements on website - the more CPU resources and time are needed to parse and execute it...

I use Disconnect.me extension to filter various JS trackers and other unnecessary content.
Browsing is significantly faster with it... even here on NamePros.

@NameBuyer.com is in the lead with 618 Mbps

@MapleDots (yours truly) is in second with 400 Mbps

@karmaco is third at 299 Mbps

To qualify there has to be a screenshot

Post your speeds everyone, I want to see the first place with over 1000 Mbps
