Just wondering what the general thoughts are about whether the recent trend to legalize marijuana will boost the prices of pot-related domains?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Since my "cannabis" niche domains are fairly new, and legalization still new (Canada) been getting the occasional low ball offer. Figured to sell them around the mid XXX range.

Been developing (for added value, back links, FB pages etc) my "better" ones for higher prices!

Might be a Cannabis + lawyer keyword (or vice versa) niche..maybe throw in a GEO keyword..
"With the passage of Proposal 1 in last Tuesday's midterm election, Michigan attorneys are gearing up for an influx of people interested in the business side of the budding marijuana industry.

The doors seem to have swung wide open for marijuana businesses in Michigan. The excitement is there. But is the legal advice?

Cities across Michigan soon will have to develop local regulations and tax codes for marijuana businesses. All of this forthcoming motion into a new, highly sought-after industry also means attorneys will be weeding through hundreds of calls from new, potential clients who are looking to navigate the legal landscape of it all."

I have 1 decent Michigan geo domain. Hopefully it will pan out.

Wonder if the owner will trademark this ( under online information) and make all secondary two word kush and brandables including kush worthless. ( if they had any value to begin with ). I own a few and never understood the end user market for leafindica for example anyways.

Kushbottles; and other companies are using Kush. These are grey areas these days. How would kushbotttles defend their TM. I'd think the unique part of their mark is not sitting in bottle.

I doubt kush . would have dropped half a million without a TM planned in the cannabis space. Lawyer up is a understatement.

Corey I know trademarks. Especially in cannabis.

What these guys will possibly do is trademark kush ( expected for half a mill )

Naturally no one else can short of online information ( think leafly ) get Mark's for kush. That isn't a public domain word like leaf I'd presume. Then own the word kush, and either prior variants are grandfathered in. Or a similar situation as the TM become available for Cannabis.

Therefore Kush would own the space and all domains rendered worthless.

For a half a million domain I'd think this is exactly their plan.

I hold a leaf brand with TM and will do exactly as the above formentioned infact. Although what I'm up too is small potatoes compared too a half a million dollars for a domain and possibly equal in legal fees too carve out their space in the industry.

I think listing the same name 2 days in a row is unnecesary. So she should only showcase a new hand reg once per thread. Wanna double your exposure, there is reg of day thread. Okay?

Correct me if I'm wrong:

Hemp- no altering nor consumable compounds, grown primarily for clothing, rope, creams etc
Cannabis- this has the active compounds that can be used for medicine, recreation and consumables (fused into beer and foods).

Yes?

So how does this make sense:

Seems sold for 1k, to a very *edit* misinformed buyer?(seems HotKey might be misinformed) Or are we drinking beer clothes now?

Hemp can also be consumed (check hemp seeds).

Hemp can also be consumed (check hemp seeds).
Forgot about those, thanks. Although, isn't it a misnomer? The seeds must come from a flower, and hemp is not grown for the flowering buds, in fact hemp has no flowers.

In terms of producing stout, it is the hemp plant itself used for the malt, then?

Hemp

Three major components

1. The seeds, think wheat. They will thrash the plant and get nutritious high protien products: think power bar at Starbucks

2. Cbd extracts. They will put the flowers into a extractor and get oils. Then put this into a " stout " and or other consumables. This is the Billion ( carona beer, Coke, Smirnoff, and the latest to jump in is Coors )dollar play on hemp/ CBD. If the farm bill 2018 passes CBD is legal nationally.

3. The plant for fibers and such : think couch or shirt.

The now 6 billion dollar investments into different Canadian growers is going straight into the hemp portion of the farm bill : to bring a stout hemp to a tap near you.

The latest on the farm bill: in this is the Hemp portion that directly affects your evaluation on a hemp domain.
