The new weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com. This week’s action was led by a $700,000 blockbuster that is one of the year's five biggest sales reported to date. A second 6-figure transaction is in the runner-up slot, one that helped the .coms sweep 15 of the 20 chart entries. Four spots went to non .com gTLDs (three of those being new gTLDs) leaving just one position for the ccTLDs (but that one ranked among the year’s top 30 country code sales). You can get all of the details here: https://www.dnjournal.com/archive/domainsales/2018/20181121.htm

whats with all the club sales

I believe most of them (there may be a few non-registry mixed in) are because the .club registry, like Radix do for their premium sales, rather than reporting them frequently just do so every number of months. Interesting to see how distributed the premium sales in .club are over a lot of different sales venues.

There seems a lot off interest in .club in Asia both from how many are sold at Alibaba and I see that even some sold at other venues, like pink(club) and candy(club) are already in use for Chinese language sites. 59% of overall .club registrations are in China, vs. just 11% in the USA.

The .club seems to be doing very decent, at least compared to other non-legacy TLDs, in real world use. According to NameStats it has 1755 sites in Alexa 1M or 1 in every 672 registrations (not as good as .com which is about 1 in 267 but very good for a TLD just out for a few years).
