Why always having to login TWICE on GoDaddy auctions?

NameSilo
Watch
I am in and out of the GoDaddy auction pages several times a day and I am becoming quite frustrated with always having to log in twice! Whether I go straight to the GD auction page, or click on a GD auction reminder email, I am confronted with "Already an Auctions Member? Login here".

So I log in, correct name and correct password and hit Enter. Now I am always taken to the standard GoDaddy account login page, where I have to log in a second time. This time, I finally get to the GD auctions pages with my saved searches and watch list etc.

There would seem to be absolutely no security aspect to this, just total annoyance on my part. So what's going on GoDaddy??

Probably expiring token/cookie stuff. I get the same thing. I always get taken back to a page with a black dude smiling at me. I call him "Big Mike". I say "Damn, Big Mike you still working ? Don't you ever get a day off ?" and then I log in..... :-P

I'm having the same problem and agree that it's very annoying.

Here's a puzzler for you all.

Big Mike always remembers a username that is one letter off from my correct one, but never my actual correct username. I don't hold it against him because he's always so cheerful.

Interesting that I'm not the only one having this issue. I think the only reason I haven't drop kicked my laptop across the room in frustration, is that "Big Mike" is smiling quite serenely from the GD login screen! I would appreciate @Joe Styler commenting on why we are having this login problem.

The problem is that guy, Big Mike. He wants everyone to look at him. He gets paid a nickle every time his picture shows up and he's really a developer here so try as we might to resolve this he keeps adding in random code to have his page show up double. If you are mad about it imagine how I feel seeing him come to work in the new Ferrari he bought from his royalties. I have to field the questions about it and he just sits back and cashes checks.

Obviously the real reason is different than this. The short answer is we are in the middle of reworking the back end on the auctions and have been for a while. This is one unfortunate hold out that will not be completely resolved until the beginning of next year sometime. You are correct, you do have to login twice. The way to get around this is to use the login on the top right side of the page only and you will then only have to see Big Mike and login 1 time until the whole back end revamp is completed.

And hey if you do it that way maybe he won't be able to make his Ferarri payments and seeing him drive up in a Ford will make me feel a bit better when fielding questions on this issue. Thanks for the patience with us.

That is hilarious answer @Joe Styler :)

But on serious note thanks for the reply and glad to know it is already on cards...hope it will be rectified very soon...

On side note... May I ask if there are any special pricing offered on Blackfriday or cybermonday...as it is just around the corner..

Thanks

Sooooo why not just delete the broken login box? it's as simple as selecting that part of the code, then click delete, then click save. Takes 30 seconds, but I'm sure your developers pretend it's complicated.

If we did that Big Mike wouldn't get paid.

Thank you @Joe Styler for answering so promptly! I do understand and look forward to a more linear login process soon! In the meantime, Big Mike is certainly doing his bit for GD, with his calming presence and sweet smile...

its time to clear your cookies

Not a fix.

Logs you out completely, and you will

just have to log back in to both again.

Here in India, we don't have to see to Big Mike's face 20 times a day.

We have someone else smiling on behalf of Godaddy's messed up coders.

You gotta give her a name and create a back story for her....

LOL...

@NYJimbo you said it's like a mandatory... :)
I will call her "Neeta". She's a single mother of two. Left her husband, who has a drinking problem and she went to work at the Guragaon office of Godaddy. She's a "can do" kind of woman and she is making a great life for her and the kids, all on her own.

Something like that .... :-P

Lol...you came up with a story already...

The creative from NY ;)

I think you got good grades in your story writing..
And in case you didn't noticed it's a good Bollywood story...

You did good search or you are related to India in some way...
