Nowadays many dropping .CO domains are requalifying by Registry into "Premium" category for $1XX and higher...
So if it is from Premium tier - then your $69 wasn't enough... and that's why it was deleted within Grace Period.

LET'S EXPLAIN SOMETHING TO "NEWBIES" ( it's friendly ) and also to be honest @wwwweb , @Jurgen Wolf and other , in fact to all NP members & also to the world

What i notice start from 1 september 2018 , when .CO Internet S.A.S decide to make LLL .co , NNN .co & other "premium" domains that....
Pheenix.com some how have capability to catch this "premium" domains before expired time or actual/valid/true expired time combine with a lack of transparency/technical problems that .CO Internet S.A.S have in registred domains , expired period of domains etc..

I give you a example
For the domain *** .co that recived email & say "We were able to catch 1 domains for you today." Please login to your account to provide credit card information within 24 hours or your uncharged domains will be deleted from your account"

To understand better who do you think is the owner of let's say SOS.co ? & when expired

Vessel.co was in a same situation , but because was 2 people wanted the domain was go to auction & the winner was the other person ( not me ) so for Vessel.co all good in any whois & Phhenix not stole the domain from this person. Why? Because they make more money then standard $69
For my domain they make only $69 & i think they want to make more

Now you understand , members of NP ?
Not to mention they possible own a lot arround 100-200-300 "premium" .CO
But they will put on auction or something else but i am almost sure they owned a lot

My domain was not in a grace period at all i am not "newbie" and claim something to be something else

First 5 days since registration are GRACE Period.
The domain can be instantly deleted within this period.

I think that is the case, the system coding for the backorder, and what the renewal price came in at different pricing It was taken back to be deleted, and refunded. I have seen this with premium gtld's where the register doesn't update from the premium list, rather the reg fee cost.

Names like sos.co do not just grace delete, without backorders, or drop auctions, unless they have a huge premium attached that nobody wants to touch. Your backorder was priced wrong, and they got the bill, and as stated above are just going to grace delete it as the registry wants their money.

Pheenix took the name, .co sent the bill for thousands, they had to grab it back, and have to delete it. It is very simple, yes Pheenix needs to update their coding, or shut down the .co backorders.

You knew the price, you used a glitch, and it didn't work out.

Yes, in a perfect world you would be able to dropcatch sos.co for $69, leave pheenix with a $9K bill, and transfer out right away, but obviously that is not going to happen.

Only difference was Vessel.co was put in auction because was 2 people request in backorder

The reason i make this post to warning other about problems of Pheenix

They firstly deleted it at Registry level... completely. No doubts here.
If you don't understand why $69 wasn't enough - contact Colombian registry and ask what real price for this domain.

Regarding "push" notification...
This was just their internal glitch... because it wasn't deleted from their local DB.

let me share my story and understanding about pheenix here.
i bought first forexfy.com , then cryptotrust.org and then illusiona.com
all came to me with my record my trust has been developed.
then suddenly i saw some 3Ls.co in auctions immediately i deposited 500 usd in pheenix account to buy them and i won all three domains toi.co , bmb.co and one more was there i dont remember
then i changed nameserver and added them to undeveloped but when i checked it was directing still me to afternic i checked whois one was under domainbox , 2 was with godaddy still
i emailed pheenix after 20 days whats happening as usual no response then again i contacted after 7 days by email again no response then i decided to call them because the amount was 500 something usd
i shouted on phone alot and then i got email next day that we have refunded your money to your paypal and listing was by mistke from pheenix. from that day i realized only .com / .net & .org are genuine at pheenix all .co domains are fake as they want all users to deposit amount in pheenix account so they can use for themselve may be ...
after refund of money i can still see these 3 domains in my account but that doesnt have any value
anyway i got my money and now i decided to buy only .com or .net or .org from them
all .co listings are fake there so dont bid on .co

Looks like they are auto targeting LLL.co's for their generic makeup, but that is a keyword domain which probably would not be labelled with that premium fee. Pheenix has been broken for a long time, you are not going to get much support, I am surprised it still works. It was a good low cost backorder option for those toss up names, but I didn't trust the auction process to much, and after the Chinese market collapsed so did Pheenix. I am sure lots of people have credit balances, and backorder credits that will never be used there.

I feel bad you had to go thru this whole process, but names like sos.co are not going to squeak by on basic backorder with auction anymore, they are like the .tv model with the high upfront fee. The GTLD's are doing this also, these private operators are taking domainers out of the equation, not much you can do.

Auctions can be run at Pheenix platform without any backorders.

Regarding .CO Registry...
They set "Premium" tier even on mediocre drops...

Similar policy is used by .club
Tons of their domains were requalified into Premiums.

seems like the .co registry is shady as hell, as are many of the cctlds.

Columbia.... not known to be the most honest place to begin with.

I was thinking of bidding on Maple.co a while back but in the end I opted out.
I just cannot wrap my head around the fact that I would want to run a business on a columbian extension.
