Flippa has a new pricing in place and looking to add ID verification

Seems like they are moving more and more out of the domain side. Makes sense given how much less very high quality inventory there seems to be for sale on auction platforms these days, compared to couple years ago.

That seems steep to me - I think they will lose the modest priced sales they have had. The new identification measures seem a good idea though. Thanks for sharing the info @equity78 .What do others think?

Its funny how they tried hard to rebrand themselves as a business marketplace and not websites.

They even changes all that to the word "businesses" now.

For the ID I think that was implanted few weeks ago (not syre though).

I guess the new pricing will hurt a lot of people but it looks like everyone will get their upgrades by default from now on.

If you look at Flippa's homepage, it asks for business types. The options range from advertising, to apps, to SaaS... The site lacks flow and makes little sense now.

Does anyone know what percentage of their revenue Flippa get from their different categories? Is it possible most of their revenue comes from businesses/websites and they are not so keen to be active in the low end off the domain price range anymore? Just wondering.

I’ve respectably decided to focus my efforts on NameJet and using efty or undeveloped from now on. You may see me list the odd auction @Flippa but I won’t be moving as much inventory through there anymore. I agree with @equity78 that since Kevin fink left flippa it hasn’t been the same. The changes made to the structure of the domain auction listing section have created a negative outcome for many auctions. I’ve enjoyed the helpfulness that Amber burk has given, but flippa is not as profitable for flipping as it used to be.

according to nb flippa is the best place to list extension .website,but $25 to list one domain,that's crazy.i listed tilray.website on gd instead.for free.

Call it what it is... a commission. This new terminology crap really makes me not want to business with them (or anyone else) trying to "rebrand" reality.

I'm guessing the Flippa folks got tired of seeing so many auctions and "starter" websites end up unsold - only to be relisted, cluttering up the listing pages with junk - even though each of those listings for minimum prices brought them in a lot of revenue. But a small number of large sales makes up for hundreds of small listing fees, so good luck to them as they try and re-brand to try and look more legitimate.

They are trying to move in the direction of EmpireFlippers and similar sites with these all-new "business listings".

I wouldn't be surprised if they'd also introduce a system where all domains would be reviewed (accepted or rejected) before being posted.

I haven't listed domains in a while with them but I do believe that paying $25 up-front for basically no exposure is not worth it.

I noticed this yesterday when I tried listing one of my domain with them, I respectfully backed out when I saw the price of $25 for listing.

I personally think they are trying to make their marketplace less congested. Weeding out the lower value domain names by upping the fee to list. Don’t forget, they are in partnership with media options. At a 10% success fee they only make a couple dollars on a domain selling around $100. The high value domains is what they make money on

It means the low price domain name will not be listed on Flippa.

That’s the end of Flippa auctions for me. Call me when they roll back the prices.

You can't call it a reduction if it starts at X, increases to Y, and then returns to X under a new gimmick.

Seriously need another marketplace to control unipolar flippa market. I don't understand why freemarket.com not focusing to replace flippa ? its a great market but no support.

Replace? I didn't know Flippa was performing a role to be replaced in the first place.

It's hard to take the Flippa site seriously. It sounds so desperate... "please sell something.. anything!"
