Has an archived purchase price from the end of 2009 which really screws things up since it was undersold.

If you don't get the .com the first thing you look at is whether the TLD works with the URL.
- Considering Social Media is often called a Social Network (TLD and URL work wonderful together)
- With the popularity of "influencers" and networks of social accounts used for engagement - a social media network brand is in high demand.

For a .net domain - I put this one on a pedestal. I wouldn't take less than $xx,xxx for it despite the archived sale history. Find and make a list of the the BIG social influencer marketing networks and do your thing.

Great name.

This might sound crazy but could this be one of the few domains in the world where the .net might work better and be a better brand than the .com? SocialMedia.com is cool and all but its a bit bland. As you say, social Network and social media are interchangeable so the .net in the domain works great.

Good thought but some ahole will always accidentally type in socialmedia.com before they will socialmedia//net. ;) I would say the .com is worth substantially more than the .net

The only .net I consider better than the .com is inter or something like nordu (because of age).
...so hack or age based.

You must be new in the domain business. It is ok to use .net as your primary website if you also own the .com.

Great domain. I would pay somewhere in low 4 figures for it myself.
Could see a 5 figure sale to the right buyer.
