Congratulations on the excellent sale. Could you please indicate the venue where it was sold, or if it was a direct inbound. Thanks.

Sold via Afternic fixed price Fast transfer. Sold, transferred and money in the account in less than 24 hours. Interestingly enough, had a $5,000 offer three weeks ago through Voodoo, where I had a lander. Countered at $7.5K, but they went silent. Listed on Afternic with fixed price and it disappeared :xf.smile: Still have Preserving.life.

I am trying to research into how companies will purchase domains in these price ranges. On Afternic's website, they claim they accept credit cards for transactions up to $2,500. If your deal was funded within 24 hours, how do you think they funded the transaction in such a short amount of time? Paypal?

Putting yourself in the end-user's perspective, if a company usually buys with a corporate credit card, would they still have been able to purchase the domain in this case?

With Fast transfer, they collect the money before they even inform me that the name had been sold. So while it was less than 24-hours for me to get paid upon notice it had been sold, it may have been longer for them to collect the money before hand. Yes, I use PayPal for these transactions, as it is always quick and easy, although usually takes up to three days, imo.

I wonder what options they give to collect the money from the buyer. It seems most marketplaces have a cap for credit card transactions, so the buyer would have had to use a different means to fund the transaction at this price point, even though you ultimately got paid through paypal.

Congrats on the sale! How did you manage to get it listed as Fast Transfer? I can't get my new gtlds listed. On the Afternic website it says:

Fast-transfer is available for com, net, biz, org, de, pw, info, co domain names that have a buy now price set. The maximum price is $100000.

Does anyone know what the name is going to be used for? (at moment still goes to parking) I could see several possibilities including a group against use of animal products, anti-hunting, anti-abortion, maybe something re end of life care and decisions, etc. It is a major domain purchase, so presume it will be an organization with significant resources.

Afternic has 2 networks: Standard and Premium. The premium network is the one with the options of fast transfer and limited extensions.

Now, if your domain doesn't meet the requirements for fast transfer i.e participating registrar, supported extensions etc, it will still be listed, but only on their smaller standard network where your name is only promoted via 32 registrars

It is a very universal name and very positive. I have no idea who will use it for what, but it can well happen it was bought by another domain investor, and not end user (even for this price of 7,5k). Let's see in few months if this feeling was correct, and the name is still parked or not :)

Understood. OP stated that it was fast transfer and fast transfer is not allowed on that extension. That is why I'm asking for clarification. As stated, the story seems off.
