This is a normal practice in out bound for low xxx deals, being in outbound for 10 years always customers have paid after push, first time an end-user stopped responding after namesilo push, what can be done? I know he is listed in Google business and his phone number.

I would mix reminder with an indirect and nonillegal threat. For example you can say,

* please pay a.s.a.p, if you don't pay, it will cost you more, I promise.

You may contact your registrar and ask them to suspend that domain, but I'm not sure if it would work.

Once my domain was stolen, and I got it back by contacting registrars (and later sold for about 2k (an .info domain). )

Once I sold a .biz for mid-5 figure, but part of payment was supposed to be made by paypal, and the buyer was supposed to send it in 2 days, but didn't do it almost a week. I said something similar to * above. He paid, but warned me not to make a threat again. But if I didn't make it, would he still pay: I'm not sure, maybe postpone it forever.

You mean legal?

Well, that certainly doesn't sound like a very legal threat. So, stick with "nonillegal" again.

If you're telling the truth then you have the truth on your side and he stole from you, he didnt just walk away from a negotiation or escrow.... Post his full name, his company, the domain name in question on this thread here and on facebook, twitter, etc etc with a link to this thread.

If you're posting the truth then you have nothing to worry about.

Then be done with it. * And hopefully you rethink pushing domain names to people you've never met before before securing payment. It may have worked all these years and you were lucky. But 6 pages of discussion shows me that you're not happy with what happened and also think about how much time was spent here discussing this, trying to get your payment from him via email and other methods, and generally worrying over payment. To me, its worth the percentage that escrow takes to nearly eliminate that worry. IMHO

If a reasonable payment period has passed, you have evidence of receipt of requests for payment I would do following:
  • Ask PayPal to intervene re his PP account. They probably won't though.
  • Submit a complaint to Better Business Bureau.
  • If the business is part of a professional business association complain to them.
  • Submit a police report for theft of services.
  • Consider a collection agency if financially worthwhile.
If you go the bad review be very careful to say only what is factual, and dangerous even then. Courts have awarded multi million dollar settlements on those who left bad reviews and ruined reputations.

Be polite, courteous and professional. Don't go the threat route.

I hope you get paid.

This cheapa$$ didn’t want to pay $200 he is not going to pay to sue. Many people have left negative comments on his Facebook according to OP who is in another country than the cheater. We should not be afraid to leave factual negative reviews for unscrupulous behavior such as this. It’s a service to the community and his customers to know what kind of rep this guy has. People leave bad reviews all the time on Angie’s List and many other places with no lawsuits.

"Ms Levine wrote that, despite visiting the office for an annual review, she was billed for an ultrasound that she claims she did not need." The doctor disputed that it had been done and that it was routine. Not so extreme yet the negative reviewer is currently down $20k in legal fees and still facing a possible $1million suit.

Not far from where I live in Canada a photographer has been awarded $115,000 because a disgruntled bride posted multiple negative comments on the photographer on Facebook and other social venues. These ruined her previously thriving business.

It is rare to sue, I agree, but there have been dozens of such awards in North America and the rate is increasing. Living in another country may influence how easy it is to collect on a suit, but you can readily be sued if the activity took place in that country.

Just be very sure anything you leave is supportable and fully factual, and if includes opinion that it is made clear that is so. Just trying to help you ,my friend.

If you say something not factual and someone is hurt as a result they have the right to sue for all damages due to your post. Most never will. Is it a risk you want to take?

I agree with all. The bottom line is: dont be afraid to tell the truth. That bride may have shot herself in the foot with her multiple negative comments on various social media. Once and in one place would have been fine. IMO

I wish dropping a negative review would do much but in @Brand Ultra case it apparently didn't. If the OP had read the previous negative reviews on the buyers site before doing business with him, maybe he would have saved himself all these headache.

I would advise the Op to take a more pragmatic approach if you cant let go of money. But if you can, just forget about it and learn. Once bitten twice shy.

It just occurred to me, if you file a ticket with the current registrar of the domain name saying that payment was not received and it is in essence therefore stolen, do they do anything about it? I have never had this so don't know personally, but wonder if it is worth a try. It only takes a few minutes of time and no cost.

Has anyone ever tried a small claims court? Here I realize problem that two countries involved, and not sure which they would regard as the transaction country. Usually the costs are minimal and if the other party do not respond I think you win by default.

The one time I have had a somewhat similar situation - it was not my personal money and nothing to do with domain names - but I was representing an organization. A company had accepted payment from the organization but not provided product. Repeated requests yielded nothing but excuses for weeks. Eventually I submitted a Better Business Bureau complaint and also told them I was submitting a police complaint to their local police (my local police told me the report had to be submitted where the business was). The company immediately contacted me at this point (with more excuses) but they did process a refund within 24 hr.

I hope you somehow get paid.

Have you given the price from your side or have you accepted buyer's first pitch that is $250 or was it the price after negotiation?

Always first must be done payment.
If I send you money and you dont transfer the domain, I can claim money and then Paypal (for example) will ask you explain why money was sent.
If you send me the domain, I can ignore you. Then how could you claim it? I always can say it was gift.
Domain can be gift, but money cant.
You can explain the domain transfer, but you cant explain money payment.

There could be possibility he is away due to some urgent reason or he is also waiting for some funds on his end.

This happened way back in October and it was a lower amount, so that's not true if you ask me.

At this point the buyer is just a scammer who never paid for the domain. As I said in Post #2, let's out him.

You can explain the domain transfer, but you cant explain money payment.
Therefore, you need to buy and sell through special sites.
