Bidding on your own names at NameJet...?

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Once in awhile I see people bidding on their own domains at NJ. I would think it would be frowned upon.

Today's seems more obvious than normal. Or am I missing something here?

Airlinejobs.com owned by Andy Booth at Booth.com and high bidder is BQDNcom (James Booth).

3 bids down we see Boothcom as a bidder.

Same thing with MovieZone.com. Owned by Andy Booth in which he currently appears to be the high bidder.

High Bid: $2,475 USD by boothcom

They actually won their own domain airplanesforsale.com. Im guessing it didnt get as high as they wanted so needed to protect it.

Bidder Amount Date
bqdncom $2,001 7/17/2017 12:23 PM
boothcom $1,950 7/17/2017 12:23 PM

Has anyone ever times the countdown timer for namejet, the last minute sure seems really long?
jonathan tenenbaum changes the end time of almost all the auctions, specially for domains that could sell for a Big Price, since jonathan earn an extra bonus for Big Sales, his pay check has a big porcentaje of sale commissions, so he shill bid more on domains that could sell for Big Price.

fact is the NJ system ,,allow,, to bid on your own domain
at Sedo you cant
If the namejet system allows you to bid on your own domains, then they are promoting to Sellers to bid their own auctions, simple as that. You can request all your Friends to make fake bids on your auctions and nobody can complain about that. And jonathan tenenbaum make fake bids on his Friends auctions using fake IP address from Netherlands and multiple namejet usernames that nobody can notice or track because jonathan creates new fake users on a weekly basis...

Sedo wont allow shill bidding, thats why they Will Remain as the Best Domain Marketplace or one of the best with Afternic (GoDaddy) and Flippa.

Thanks for you quickly reply!!! That means you are taken ME very Seriously,

Quick responses refuting (or challenging) baseless claims, and/or requesting proof, are necessary to preserve the credibility of this thread.

Without evidence, or an attempt to provide any sort of reference, not only are you diluting the merits of this thread, you are opening yourself up to potential legal action.

"A Greek court denied the injunction brought by Oliver Hoger against Konstantinos Zournas and OnlineDomain.com in a Greek court.
The judge found, among other things, that since the article in question did not contain false statements the article does not have defamatory content...

In an effort to keep everyone current as to where we stand on this matter, I wanted to share the following update. There have been some inaccuracies and misconceptions that have been brought forth by such a spirited discussion. And it would be a challenge to respond to all of them - therefore, I want to bring the discussion back to the heart of the matter.

As stated earlier, we take the issue of shill bidding on NameJet very seriously and we are conducting a thorough investigation, keeping in mind that the integrity of our platform is of utmost importance to us. As I have said repeatedly, we do not condone shill bidding of any kind. We would never encourage, promote or otherwise be involved in any such thing and our position is clear – it is never allowed on NameJet!

In our current investigation certain auction activity has come to light that we deem questionable and a possible violation of our terms. This kind of activity is not acceptable to us and we are taking steps to deal with it. We have suspended several accounts while working through the information we have available.

I thank everyone for their patience as we work through these issues. Our goal is to best serve our customers and we are working hard to that effect.

-Jonathan

I still don’t fully understand what happened with BusinessFunding.com and quite frankly I’m pretty annoyed about the whole situation.

Does that mean the domain was owned and is still owned by Domain Capital?... After it went through Pending Delete and the auction started at NameJet, I suddenly noticed it disappeared without any explanation and when I checked WHOIS, it was under New Venture Services... The only explanation I got, was that it was listed incorrectly.

The WHOIS appears to have updated back to DomainCapital on or around 2019-02-13T21:01:38Z

@jberryhill tweet went out at 7:48 AM - 13 Feb 2019 (not for sure on the tweet time zone) but it appears NetSol might corrected the issue the same day?

Very, very interesting read. Thanks for bumping.

To me it is clear that there was shill bidding and to say that namejet didn't know and turn a blind eye would be very gullible. I'm sure shill bidding turns over copious amounts of money to namejet, as well as the ''big fish'' who do it.

Thanks for the larger picture. Respect for the namebio guy.

If you have issues or problems with namejet or with jonathan tenenbaum, please REPORT all the problems to the namejet owners: Web.com you can send them emails at: [email protected] and [email protected] they do read all the emails and you Will get a respond in 24 hours.
