hi, I have a domain name with my actual name plus.com (myname.com)

I noticed someone is using the exact same except there is another extension added (myname, com.au)

Is this legally allowed?

thanks for any knowledge/advice on this

I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you have the .com you are fine. The other extensions are about to be null and void

Yes, why not.

I don't see any issue as there are hundreds and thousands of people with same name so anyone can register in any extension unless you've TM and someone is infringing on your TM.

.com.au is an actual extension, you cannot just tag letters onto .com as you please,so yes, it's legal.

Yes, Its a different extension and its legal. You can't take any legal action with the owner of that domain.

I have similar question but in opposite way.

I drop caught a .com domain (not revealing the name for legal purpose).
Now i have found that there is an Australian company with the same name that have .com.au , .net , .training , .de and may be 1-2 more extensions.
But they don't have the .com
Since i am looking to sell out my domain name, can i contact to the company? Is it possible that they take the domain from me for free stating Legal Matters. The domain name is not trademarked yet.

Also can i sell it big?

Suggestions please.

Yes, Sure you can contact the company if they are interested . You can even contact their competitor. Then it could be a fight and your domain price will go up . :)
