I routinely check updated news and look for new or existing companies that might be a good fit for my domains.

This morning I discovered that a technology company launched last month using the .net version of a domain name I have.

It's exciting to me when that happens. Doesn't mean an overnight sale but I do think it's something to monitor.

I won't reach out directly to them I don't think, but what do you think? Just wait and see what happens or if anything happens? It's a 4L .com domain.

Just looking at the list below your signature, looks like zdox is the most launchable brand there.

It looks like the parent company based out of Thailand operates about a half dozen other product offering companies, maybe cross reference how many others work off the direct .com, and it might help give you an indication of it if they will buy it. Thailand is a tough sell from my personal history, especially with a great 4L.com, you need to really get a decent premium on it, which sometimes economies of scale make it hard to do, either way you still own a great domain.

Its a good sign meaning the domain will eventually sell

Since registering 'Brand' type domains (as well as descriptive) since 1999 I come across the same scenario all the time. I tend to handle each case as appropriate.

1. Has the Company subsequently registered a Trademark
2. Is the new business under a parent Company
3. Is the New business presenting itself Globally
4. What is the market competition and 'Potential' market share

The list does go on and on but, once I've gone down the above questions I move on to business values and how they present similar products etc.

I do believe a lot of initial ground work does pay dividends - plus it stops you having to run around at the last minute if an inquiry comes in. Even lost a few $k not following my own rules.

best of luck though,

Here what I would do..create.a "admin" email like @Corey sugested..

Send them a email.. (something like this).."hey noticed that you own the.net version of my.com! Would like to offer you $100 for it"

This type of email should get their attention..
