advice Domain for blog

What are you trying to do with your blog ... do you want to use it to sell domains and/or services? Or do you just want to post your thoughts on things happening to you or going on in the world? If it's the first, I'd find a "brandable." If it's the second, then your name is probably okay.

why do some people still use Medium, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc..

Brandable

If the two above are your only option, then I will pick brandable but your domain should related to your niche that way you can rank faster.

Both choices have same SEO strength, but .ORG is less recognizable, so .COM is a better choice.
Additionally, you are buying it with a goal to develop it into a website, so you do not have to own a .COM domain name that holds high domain market value and SEO wise the most important part of your website will be the content.
