Just wondering what the general thoughts are about whether the recent trend to legalize marijuana will boost the prices of pot-related domains?

If we were sitting Face to Face..I call "buIIsh!t"

But since we are not..I beg to differ...I read your posts (and everyone else and there are lurkers who read your post!)

I notice, since you first started posting here..that you are defining your buying niche, what you will register and getting good at explaining why you choose them (in a 80 grit sandpaper way, compared to 1200 grit) !

~~~~~~~~~~
Not even been a week, since legalization and I seeing the anti/pro cannabis postings on FB!
example..
"x number of people got charged today for smoking pot in their vehicle"..
Yeah, also against the law to drink and or smoke cigarettes when a minor in vehicle.
Canadian Cannabis legalization is trending news and newspapers/blogs/etc need views to compete, so there will be a lot of "click bait" articles regarding legalization
Brought this company up before. What's cool about the subject of roadside stops is a regular talking point of the few holdouts on Cannabis.
The data is in, even without the above. And dwi deaths drop with a well managed Cannabis policy.
Although as mentioned prior; smoking in ones car, and or around kids. Well you can't fix stupid.
Every time theirs a legitimate issue with Cannabis theirs a company poised to solve a issue, or a ever changing rulebook that Cannabis boards enact new policies.
It's all good if not amazing for us
I didn't want to bound a bunch of panties into a little ball for people to bitch about. You saw what I wrote. Its Fact. Not sure what you mean about the Sandpaper analogy ?
Any hoots. If you understood the point i was making ?
I beg to differ.
Well, my understanding is that in British Columbia private companies are allowed to sell once they have been approved and acquired a license. Sucks to be in Nova Scotia I guess.... (not really! :) )
This is a quote straight from the BC government website....
“The Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch is now accepting applications for the private non-medical cannabis retail store licence.”
It's all starting to read like Canna Confusion to me..which was my initial take when I was looking for a name to hand-register for yesterday to mark the day. In Ontario, tech is king over bricks-and-mortar, with walk-in's not allowed until April 1st. It's like an April Fools joke gone wild, really.
Hmmm....really? No brick and mortar in Ontario? In BC you’re allowed to walk in and buy! However, out of the hundreds of stores that are currently selling cannabis and cannabis products in British Columbia, there is only one “legal” store that is open so far...
no need to even discuss it further. i deleted it because i corrected myself. i dont need to listen to supposed professionals on here, especially the ones that when you visit their personal Listing pages. Absolute garbage listings and then they feel it ok to critique the ENTIRE thread by saying what they said. Its all good.
Although it has been legalized by the federal gov't, it's up to the provincial gov't to make the rules. Unfortunately here in N.S. (as well as some other provinces), the little guy has no shot (yet), as the entire industry runs through the gov't.
I know that there are other provinces that aren't quite as stuffy when it comes to letting the little guy have their piece of the pie, and I applaud that. That is where the entire country needs to get to, and once it does, we'll see the boom.
I knew that eventually cannabis would be legalized, but didn't expect it to happen this soon. I look forward to being an old f##ker sitting in my rocking chair, telling younger generations that I remember legalization day. Congrats to all of my Canadian Namepros brothers and sisters!
Yes I understand your point...
okay that sandpaper reference, I should have explained better, cause off my offline skills, I assume everyone understands my "construction reference"...
The low grit sandpaper (like 80 grit) is real rough and can take a piece of your skin off real fast..
While 220 grit (+) is basically smooth to the touch!
So..some people are like 80 grit..far from being smooth!
Just my thoughts...this legalization thing is basically new in "beta" stage (you have to crawl before you walk) ...so thinking after a few months (court challenges, public opinion, right politicians and a few other factors) ..the laws (Federal/provincial/municipal) will change!
In fact, there is a local alderman/mayor election coming up soon in my neck of the woods..and I am being very proactive by volunteering my time and skills on FB for a candidate that is very cannabis (medical marijuana) friendly...it been a "old boys" network up here for a few years now..time for a change
Seems one of the most popular sites yesterday in Canada was offline for a few hours because of traffic (Ontario Cannabis page)...the people are speaking...
little humour/humor..
Sitting in front of the TV right now reading this thread on my phone and kinda half watching a show... just saw my first cannabis commercial! It was sponsored by the government of Canada and talked about how to choose the right cannabis for you! They are recommending “newer” users choose a cannabis that has an equal level of THC and CBD.
So crazy to see TV commercials with the government recommending what type of pot to smoke! LOL!
Looks like these longtails are dropping today.
Longtails like that were extremely common back in 2012-14. Many were US oriented names at the beginning of legalization here in The States, reg'd by folks who weren't necessarily domainers.
Many outside of domaining were trying to get a piece of the proverbial pie, thinking anything would sell in this niche. Sadly, they were wrong. In terms of what sells, this niche is more stringent that most, IMO.
I do not know if long tails will be worth anything but since Google acquired the .app extension and give free https with it I purchased one yesterday
CanadaCannabis(dot)app the .com and .ca others are taken.
