Just wondering what the general thoughts are about whether the recent trend to legalize marijuana will boost the prices of pot-related domains?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Yes and no IMO ..depends on the keyword

Yes Yahoo it wouldn’t makes since that’s a brand

Car-car is parked and probably earning some revenue .

A “Product” is a litter different , like the 2 sites I shared ...really depends on what the enduser is looking for too. I don’t think it hurt to take my chances on this one.
Deff did not hurt.
Its entirely an End User who will decide unless you have use for it. Get the PlasticCard ready folks. Here comes FUN-FUN FLY-FLY CREDIT-CREDIT BYE-BYE .COM -COM

I recently registered CbdEuphoria and CbdClimax both in dot com. Had idea to make both of them a mock up graphic for a potential brand. CbdEuphoria could be any kind of energy/revitalizing cbd oil product. Cbdclimax I am thinking for sexual enhancement ( thanks to @Leafurl for the idea on that one)

Just landed in my account

Acquired

CBD - CBD (.com)

At first I wasn’t sure about it do to the hyphen and repeat , but after seeing these 2 sites

Vape-Vape.com
THC-THC.com

And the non hyphenated version for sale by HugeDomains at $4.9k

And other main words reg’d........

Decided it was worth it , so why not not

@Keith yea or na ....you are the cbd guy here.
I would’ve passed. Maybe these types sell and I’m not aware.

You’re not the first to note what someone else is asking for a similar domain. Never use that as a reason to register something. Good luck!

Seems recipes are part of the cannabis culture..

"One of the first questions chef Travis Petersen asks guests as they arrive to his supper club at a semi-secret Vancouver location is how they would gauge their cannabis tolerance. The 34-year-old former "MasterChef Canada" contestant will then dose the forthcoming multi-course dinner with the appropriate amount of cannabis-infused oil.One of the first questions chef Travis Petersen asks guests as they arrive to his supper club at a semi-secret Vancouver location is how they would gauge their cannabis tolerance. Hemparoni...now that's pretty good, but how does it stack up to my TacoJuana? Lets call it a tie:xf.wink:
btw, Rice-A-Roni is owned by Pepsi Co and Taco Bell is owned by Yum! Brands, but Pepsi Co use to own it.
Headquarters for Pepsi Co is in Purchase NY, and headquarters for Yum! Brands is in Louisville, KY.

I think it's time for Pepsi and Yum to step up to the plate and make us an offer:xf.grin: Of course they don't know we exist, but I might have something to say about that:xf.wink: Good Luck!

i have to say it to ya 🐐. TacoJuana is in my mind, a solid brandable right there ! They say “if you could see it on a T-shirt” buy it. I’d love to see you Outbound the bajeus out of her and hit a homer. It’s a good one ! Its 10,00000000 times better then some of your other creations. But ya cant hate. Your the Artist. Your Check book is your pen. Keep Creating !!

I’m learning. I wrote. Now I need to sell. I can create notebooks full. I now must drill myself to read and learn outbound sale techniques because these things ain’t going to sell them selves. So much , ,, to learn.

How do we sell brandables to end users?

Two word seo I get in .com, I think the market will need lots of different ideas. But how too sell brandables, most domain platforms struggle to simply put domains into category's and if at all.

I get fun tacos. Great edible brand in most of California. Question is where does one find the taco guy looking for a $5k brand. I think tacouana is cooler than cannataco. He will pay, its a fun idea. Seems cheap for the dude and his food trucks, people will line up around the corner.

Most of my brandables are too risqué to even submit to brand bucket or namerific. I get traffic on my site but that’s a damn good question. I have had low ball offers on some brandables and I rejected them instantly.

Yes, what they ask is hardly ever what they. Classic example those "million dollars" domain on ebay..in most cases, "one man's junk is another man junk" This million dollar price tag is just a trick to get curious people to put the name in Google search and get directed to a landing page

Regarding recipe niche..
kushcakes.ca and cannabiseasyrecipes.ca are two domains that if I don't sell within two months, will develop them into recipes sites...

I get traffic on my site but that’s a
Suggestion....each site that are "too risque"....add separate pages (use name in title, add content/images) and interlink them from index page...more pages = more potential traffic.

My site has 50 pages and an adult section that you have to click to confirm you are 18 plus.. :)

Never scrolled till the bottom..didn't see the "18+"

Should have clarified better... my suggestion is, on your main page..for example, each of these domains have their own page, interlinked (linked back to main page) with images/content...linked from main page to secondary page..
  • 420.codes
  • 420android.com
  • 420antidote.com

I am in the process of that now. Some have pages, but all the names need to be clickable etc.. Its a lot of work and I am the one doing site. 1500 plus domains.. but yes you are absolutely right about that.

Namebio today - not me

plateaudrugs.com 400 USD 2018-10-15 GoDaddy
cbdheath.com 338 USD 2018-10-15 GoDaddy

newleafdental.com 729 USD 2018-10-15 GoDaddy

May I add another question: how do we price cannabis related brandables?
Buy low, sell high.

I have had low ball offers on some brandables and I rejected them instantly.
Good opportunity to sell ball bras - it is a thing.

Evangelit - put a c in there for a popular adult version, sorry, not posting a graphic for that.

Thanks Leafurl....besides TacoJuana I also own TacoCanna which I think is cooler than CannaTaco, but what do I know? In addition to having his own business and gardens, I can't thank you enough for sharing your knowledge. Just as a side note, one of my best friends as a kid is a not so young man today.....he's 70 like me. He has a degree in horticulture from the University of Maryland and is considered the king of flowers and plants in the Annapolis area where we grew up. When we were kids he was into growing things like I was into sports. He'd play ball, but after playing catch he couldn't wait to get to his garden to see how it had grown. I plan on reaching out to Tony today to tell him about you, and to see if there's anything h'ed care to add to the conversation here. Thanks and God Bless!

May I add another question: how do we price cannabis related brandables?

No one answered either question, how too sell and how to price.

Are these few questions that difficult to answer? And if it is then there's a great marketing and business opportunity in creating a end user platform for new business ( permitt holders ) to go to and explore branding options.

One could sell domains there, graphic free lance design and seo services. And legal advice on trademarks in Cannanis and how to do roundabouts, as well as cross state branding etc.

Few can afford inhouse branding experts like CannaBrands.

Knowing this trade and providing services to end users will be extremely valuable to anyone in this industry.

The below article touches on the beginnings of California legislation journey. As expected it says %3 ( growers ) of the market is legal. The other 97% will need branding and a domain if they expect to keep their prices high ; litterally. One can conjecture that that goes along with the stores, deliverys, edibles etc. Then follow thru to branding, seo and domain purchases.

Just like prohibition it takes time to move to the center as the author so clearly wrote.

This industry is so fresh and new; just new beginnings in so many ways and fronts.

If there aren't already, i'm sure there will be state and National Associations associated with the industry and therein lies an opportunity. In addition, I have an idea to create a portable table top booth like ones seen here: https://www.tradeshowplus.com/tabletop-trade-show-displays-s/112.htm to display domains at all sorts of industry venues. "End users" surely aren't looking for us, but we can certainly go looking for them....."Have Domain, Will Travel":xf.wink:
