That's how everyone starts. But chances are you are a (relative) expert in something, and that's usually where people start in domains, in niches they know and understand already. Particularly when starting it's a good idea to stick to domains for potential businesses you would already know and understand, which should make it easier for you to figure out what would be a good name for that type of business. Obviously only do it for niches where there is business and money. What's your background? What sort of jobs have you had? What are your hobbies? Hidden in those questions are the types of domains you might understand better than other domainers (and thus give you an advantage within those niches)
