Go to newest post in the thread when clicking on a thread of more than 1 page because at the moment for example let's say a thread has 3 pages, if I click on page 3, it opens the 3rd page but I have to scroll down to the newest post. I think for a better user experience it should automatically go to the newest post.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Do you mean the "Go to First Unread"?

Could be a solution. Could even be an option that I still can't find.
If you have visited a thread before then the title should do this automatically as can be seen by the 'unread' added at the end of the url. (to get right to the latest reply you can click on the date link under the 'Last Post' heading)

example: https://www.namepros.com/threads/what-should-namepros-add.920208/unread

Can't find any of the things you've mentioned but it could be my phone's screen resolution which is a bit small, can't see signatures for this reason. Maybe a screenshot would help me locate?

Just checked @Ategy.com 's expiring domains thread and I had to scroll aaaaaaaaall the way down to the newest post although I'm sure I've been to that thread before.

All threads that you follow/are subscribed to have a "Go to First Unread" option.
If you're not subscribed to a thread, then the button to go to the first unread will not show up

Alright, hopefully this will help better. :xf.smile:

This first image shows how a previously visited thread with new content appears. The blue dot is your immediate identifier that there is new content inside the topic and it or the thread title itself when clicked/tapped will take you to the newest unread post inside. You can see this will happen from the link location that is shown in the bottom left on the status bar containing the 'unread' request.

And this next one shows the link to use if you want to go directly to the latest post.

You're a gem. Thanks alot for the explanation. Looks like it wasn't working because I used to tap on the page number, not the post title.

lol .. the issue with both my threads is that each post is just about the maximum size allowed by NamePros .. so when a page approaches 25 posts, the load time is significantly longer than the average thread where people just post a single sentence per post.

Most of the automatic placement actually does work .. but not at first, as you only get positioned below the last post you viewed after the entire page has loaded along with all the NamePros scripts and java and all the other bells and whistles that are part of the forum software.

Also .. I have two threads .. one for auctions and one for closeouts .. maybe you only visited one before and not the other.

The best way to get to the newest post for my daily lists is to subscribe to the threads. That way when I post a new list, the notification you receive will be for the specific post, all you need to do then is click the link in the notification and it'll send you to the new post (again, as always, after the page finished loading)! ;)

Hey @Ategy.com first I'd like to thank you for these posts. I'm not subscribed yet because I don't intent to buy any at the moment so I'm only browsing for educational use if you want to call it that way. Rest assured once I decide to start buying more domains, your threads are going to be first on my watch list. 😉

Hi @Jay Ha .. actually I definitely suggest that now it's even more important for you to follow threads like mine exactly for that "educational" purpose. One of the best things you can do is go through lists and pull out what you think the best ones are and then see what happens to them at auction.

You're doing the right thing not spending too much while you learn.

Obviously for me I'd prefer you'd use the links and then go buy things .. lol .. but I was doing the lists for a year before even putting affiliate links, so just know it really makes me happy to see people use them even if it's just to learn! :)

Hello,

Here's a guide that explains how each link works:
Please keep in mind that the "go to first unread" capability is only available when you're logged in to an account on NamePros. If you're viewing NamePros as a guest (not logged in), then that feature will not be available to you.

However, the "go to the newest post" capability will still work as a guest on the designated links.

We hope that helps.
