Could NP do something about people posting WTB threads with the sole intention of fishing for ideas and/or with fake budgets (money they don't have or aren't even dreaming of spending)?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Like, idk, mandatory deposits and budget<=current balance...

And then check if they actually buy anything.

Not going to happen. I agree at least half are not posting to buy but for ideas. However some people really do have those budgets and should not be subjected to scrutiny.

Th ones that should be abolished are 1 to 10 dollars send me all your unwanted names. 🙄 and oh yeah must have 6 months and be aged.

I think there should be a minimum. Would clear some of the trash posts out.

I actually disagree with everyhting you wrote.
And what about the broke guy with a $20k budget?

By the way, totally unrelated, I'm about to post a WTB thread with a budget of One Million Dollars (y)

Make it min. balance just a fraction of the budget for higher budgets, exempt buyers with a good track record, something...

NP is a selling venue and does not get involved unless there is a problem. The financial aspect is between the two parties.

Sorry you don’t agree but what you are suggesting is ludicrous. Might be best for you to skip over requests you think are bogus instead of trying to change the entire platform

If any kind of deposit was required the request section would go dormant. People send the most atrocious names and a person does not know when or if a good name will be offered. Why should they put a deposit on uncertainty?

Im just gonna send what will drop anyway.. In other, words, send over your rubbish domains.

Sounds nasty but thats how you deal with those requests.

The funny part is, they'd be expecting the likes of FastCars.com & CryptoCoins.com for those budgets.

in refrence to what Karmaco said, $1-10

imo

In a lot of cases the buyer has an unrealistically low price point and then the sellers just message in crap domains that are worthless anyway so that there is nowhere near a meeting of the minds.

The “budget” is meaningless. The price per domain that the buyer is willing to pay is what matters.
