Do you use a "sleeper" email address when trying to acquire a domain via email?

So I was wondering about this.

As I wish had used a different email not associated with my "domaining" business.

I emailed the Owner of a Name, this person is not a "Domain-er", but owns a couple names, this one is good, this person also has a MBA and a online presence.

I had thought about , using a separate email not associated with my site, my domains, my Efty , my linkedin any of that. I wish I had........As I now see thanks to Boomerang, this person has open my short email 8 times since yesterday, without a response .

Like I or any smart person would do, I only gave my name and email..But I would be the first to "google the email address" , which I just did this with my email and of course first things that comes up is my

Efty Market, and numerous Domain Landers....DEAD GIVE AWAY about why I'm trying to inquire about buying .

This can cause the price I may have paid to now become 20x etc...if they see I'm looking to resell. ( FYI im not talking about domainer to domainer, that's different and I think there's respect in there working out a deal)

Just wondering and curious of others thoughts and if you do this?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Another possibility is -- and I'd like to emphasize the "possibility" as I don't know how or what mechanism Boomerang uses to count a "view" - if the recipient uses Outlook or a similar email client, every time the email is clicked on or displayed -- intentionally or not -- that might count as a view.

I have my email client set to display a list of the emails in my inbox on the top half of the screen and the bottom half shows the body/content of whatever email is currently highlighted so I don't have to actually open the email unless it is a long one. No matter what, as long as I have my inbox open, the body of one of the emails is always displaying it's contents as if it is open.

Assuming they are using an email client of some sort, your recipient might have your email sitting in his inbox for further consideration but only intentionally opened it once. As he/she deletes the email(s) that have come in after your's, the "focus/highlighted" email will then switch/return to your email since it is next in line -- whether he/she is actually or intentionally looking at it or not. They also might be using the up/down arrows to scroll through their emails which might trigger a "view" even if the email was highlighted for just a moment.

I'm not saying either of these is what is happening, I'm just suggesting possible scenarios to account for the number of "views". I will also say if I receive an email about something of interest, I may actually view it multiple times before I finally act on it.
