Just wondering what the general thoughts are about whether the recent trend to legalize marijuana will boost the prices of pot-related domains?

Just deleted 10 domains that have been sold. Need to add several acquisitions to the list as well.
Some were via potdomains and some were direct negotiation.

Just my thoughts...420Jolt..(etc) cannabis infused drink.Briguy....leafurl has sold me on this market. I have my share of "hemp" domains, and I think I've rounded out my "420" .com domains with these:
Perk420
Drip420
Octane420
Tropic420
Smooth420
Jolt420
Thanks guys for sharing, and I hope I can return the favor someday
There have been loads of 5 figure sales and some 6 figure sales too. Domain resellers are even paying 4-5 figures for the best names in the space. Most of my thinking on this is a year or so out. The NOW sales are as Kieth formentioned. Very large agri multinationals and I see the industry today.
Rockstar sales like Cannahub I see only for the big boys. In Leaf and others I see lots of first base hits. Less homeruns. Prices just a guess $2000 to $3000 $5000?. That's tolerable to most small businesses in Cannabis. (in my opinion).
You start asking for 10 grand people will flip you off. Their opening a storefronts not setting up a national play with Coke a cola with funding from the Canadian Exchange.
example :
A craft grower ( 250 plants, 1500 sq feet of growing space)the grower will brand with exceptional qualities with very high thc levels and or flavonoids and color. ( this isn't easy by the way ) like say Beer. Ever heard of Chiimay, or Duval or Delerium? When people see the grower they instantly know quality. Not to downplay the sale price but he will tolerate $3000 mby more 5 grand? But just sayin he won't pay 20k for a domain.
To get $22 a gram not $7 one will need to brand and be good. Real good. Fyi theirs 400 or so grams off every few plants. 463 grams in a lb . Do your math. They will pay for domains and be required to brand. Or the price will be low. Like any brand, pay for quality. And brand accordingly.
Same guy will possibly make his own branded " fun " root beer. If he can get both a growing permitt, or partner with a edibles permit; and theres sale #2.
Was in Pittsburgh this week; seems like hundreds of new brewers. Small places with craft beers. Nice branding and qualities on their products. This will ultimately be a street level business model. In, coffeeshops, smoothies, donut guys and in fun drink places. All putting cbd and thc extracts in all sorts of stuff.
Michigan
Theres a " transporter " law. Yes licensed permitted guys to Uber weed around.
Transport, and small business in moving the stuff around. More domains
And one questions where I get my projections. It's in all of the legislative Bill's and so on. Both approved and in the future. I read them. Its actually hard to keep track. Especially say California that is county by county. Or Canada that's Province by province etc.
As I see it tomorrow? In many of the small towns and cities across America is a mix of small business and creative brands and products involved with Cannabis, tens of thousands of new startups. Most all states forward thinking policy in fact gives substantial leeway ( permitts ) to smaller growers, minority's and in some cases preference to those with prior aduacated pot cases amazingly enough.
When the application process and approval mechanisms reach county levels this is especially true. Multi Nationals are locked out in many cases. And Michigan for example all the funding must come from in State, with proof.
For example there will be alot of women owned business in Cannabis, trend is already here actually. I see them using blooms, flora, and Leaf. Fun but yet respectful storefront.
All small operators will need SEO. Brandables are expensive. There will be online and branding on street level, packaging and other.
Anyways didn't want to downplay and or get anyone too optimistic, This is clearly my opinion and I'm ahead of the industry, but if one reads the legislations and is educated and versed, one would easily come to similar conclusions. It's in black and white in print
I'm glad to share.

Yes Shopify/Facebook/etc are loaded with one person sites/pages...there money to be made with domains that come with "turn key" sites that are user friendly (beginners)! All small operators will need SEO. Brandables are expensive. There will be online and branding on street level, packaging and other.
Prices are going to go up as the premium name become more rarer !There have been loads of 5 figure sales and some 6 figure sales too. Domain resellers are even paying 4-5 figures for the best names in the space.
I predict tons of 5-6 figure deals will be done as we move forward, for the best domains in the industry of course. Junk will always be junk.
They own 420times.com which directs to the main site. Someone just paid $10,500 for a worthless domain imo.The 420 Times allowed it's domain to expire and it closed at $10,500 on GoDaddy auctions on Tuesday. From the Huffington Post, THE 420 TIMES is a Los Angeles homegrown medical marijuana and natural healing magazine, distributed throughout Southern California. The 420 Times covers activism, advocacy and legal issues, cultivation, medical research,

I’m sure they’ll be fine. They dropped the “the” which isn’t a bad thing. Was it worth them renewing for $8? Of course. But it’s not their main web address so they’ll move on.checkout their Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/The-420-Times-261116560637717/ for the website link, goes to Godaddy parked page...lost all backlinks...etc
Development adds another skill base & understanding.

Backlinks...yes/no/maybe totally depends on when Google starts "de-indexing them" (and lot of other factors) .. I bought recently expired sites that were dropped ...traffic from backlinks were good for a few months...there are domainer that buy recently expired, park them and when traffic dies down..drop them!..lost all backlinks...etc
