The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
@alcy This not my first rodeo doing this...I research them (wayback machine etc)..park them using the keyword of the niche that the domain indexed for or getting traffic for..if they get a lot of visits, I redirect them to a similiar niche....also start building new backlinks..

This is the one that I bought 2 or three weeks ago...high amout of backlinks..lot of business articles.... https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://successprofessor.ca now is redirected to my Amazon link...paid for itself with 7 days of owning it..

Cooldomains (unless registered by now) would be great for a domain blog/portfolio...note example, I never spend anytime researching the name!

update...thanks @Joshua Harding seems we typed at same time....you answer way more shorter and professional... !
All is well, briguy - it's all professional if you're making money doing it! :)

What's everyone's thoughts on landing pages?

I've bumped around between Efty + Undeveloped, and now I'm fooling around with my own landers. Check one out here - CryptoCandy. Let me know what you think.

Are there any strong options that convert more readily for .ca domains?

the one that I got two weeks ago is getting me 50 visits a day

That is a lot different, as my example only got 50 hits a MONTH.

Hah- who took "notwithstanding" yesterday? Rascally little rabbit. All over the news sure, but one of those names that will fade away after the news cycle imo..

Getting the itch to register a name on my list now..if you don't act they disappear.

"Needs" might be in your favour/favor...the way the economy is currently!

Yes, I find it sometimes takes a year to make a deal, people hang on and on until they really need the money. Took me well over 2.5 years of trying to get red.ca

rule_violation was pretty hard too.... come to think of it, there were very few easy deals.

I can imagine...you have a gift contacting owners!
Not my forte, and no luck with domain brokers..thinking seriously about using Godaddy..might have to talk to account manager about "commission" .. so I can factor in, how much to set aside for a "worse case scenario"< I really stick to a budget!

Commissions can add up quickly on sales, I do everything myself, from landers, to contacts, to payment processing etc. It's not always what you earn that matters but it's also what you spend, or in my case not spend.

Smart move...being organized!

I deal with real estate agents/brokers so 1%+saved can be a big savings....I can deal with those parasites because it is face to face (easy to play one against the other!) ..sending out a inquiry a different matter for me!!

Yes, if you are outside Canada, you will need a Canadian representative to buy the domain for you.

You asked "Is there any restrictions on .ca registering if we are from outside of Canada..?", so I said Yes.

From my TBR Reports:

.CA Requirements: Registrant Citizenship or Business Location or Local Domain Representation must be Canadian.

That means you a) have to be a Canada citizen or b) your registered business must be in Canada or c) you must use a Canadian representative i.e. buy the domain through a TM/Branding/Marketing company based in Canada or lease it from a Canadian Firm.
