Coinmate.com has a $10k BIN if you search it at godaddy but if you go to the listing you get this message:
auctions.godaddy.com/trpItemListing.aspx?domain=coinmate.com
Bidding on item "coinmate.com" is by invite-only.
First time I see this.

I registered some crappy handreg after buying xrp for .006 cent days later it sky rocketed. Anyways after it went up I bought cryptoonward.com, it just kept going up so I bought cryptoupward.com then I started referring to myself as the cryptomartyr.com then I should have bought cryptodownward but didn't. And crowdbuck.com

Just analyzed 288 icos from the website icolist.one to kill some time. Here are some data I could extracted out of it.

I knew .io was hot within crypto, but I wasn't really sure how much. So I was interested to see how many of these ICOs use .io compared to .com. Here are the results:

icolist1.png

As you can see, out of 288 domains, 41% prefers .io, 32% choose .com, and the rest (27%) are mainly ngTLDs.

If I already pulled in this many domain names I went and checked the most popular crypto keyword combinations we all know as well:

icolist2.png

So 52 names (18%) applied to the most popular crypto keyword combinations, from which KW+token leads the way. No surprise I guess since it's an ICO list, not a crypto business directory. The rest of the 236 names (82%) are almost only brandables, both made up and keyword.

Wonder if .com would be able to take over #1 position if we had the entire industry's data analyzed, not just 288 ICOs. I'm not so sure...

If you know a website where a large amount of crypto business listed on one page with their website, let me know and I may take a look on them either.

For these .io domains are the dot coms already taken so they chose .io instead? My thought was they prefer .com but they are registered already.

I think they partly .io because .coms are either more expensive due to the large number of investors, or simply just reserved, and party because .io really is recognized as the tech industry's "own" extension by now, and it's just trendy. I think both of those but I'm not sure about the proportions. I would guess 30:70.
