the chances of a .co fetching more than the same name in a .com are negligible. As much chance as getting some protein from glass of tap water.

It really depends on who's buying the .co and when the .com was sold. If someone can't get the .com because it was sold for a small amount 15 years ago then sure the .co can sell for more than the historic price. The .co might not be worth more than the .com, but the sales price can be higher because the .com sold a long time ago when prices were low.

What are you trying to work out? If a .co is worth more than a .com? If so then the answer's no without other factors coming into play to make it so.

But this never happened

.co is a very late comer , although good extension , it will never compete with .com as long as there are internet websites

Answering your specific question, yes.

If a .COM was hand registered in 2000 and used by Company XYZ since then, then definitely the .CO can be sold for many times that. It's the same if a .COM has been sold and held for a decade or more and there is no hope of buying it from the company operating under that URL.

But that is true of many assets. Many rare paintings today are sold for multiples of what a rarer and theoretically more valuable counterpart sold for decades earlier. Availability means a lot in a capitalist market.

Yep, and the old saying is "Buy the .CO until you can afford the .COM"

i.e. if you are a longer-term success, and can afford the .COM, you're doing pretty freaking good, and if not, then big bucks foolishly wasted on the .COM wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Why not? If the buyer is an end-user and really wants that name, I can't see why it is not happening.
