I owned a domain name that I have been paying a registrar for. It disappeared from my account and now I wonder whether the registrar if ever held the domain. Is there a way to check?

The domain now has a creation date that is several days before what supposed to be the expiration date I was given. How is that possible?

I choose this forum because I thought I would find the most knowledgeable here.
Any advice and/or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank-you

DomainTools would help. Without knowing the name no one else would be able to assist further.

Sorry, I was unsure if posting domain is wise or appropriate since I am still dealing with registrar. But I greatly need the help:

ILUVMYDOC.COM

Thank-you very much for the reference to some tools.

ILUVMYDOC.COM
1) Transfered from GoDaddy to current registrar on 2015-04-22
2) was set to expire on: 2017-11-24 (Nov 24)
3) Placed renewal order on 2017-10-11 (Oct 11)
4) Recieved confirmation and funds deducted from pre-paid account.
5) Several days ago went to renew domain, but was no longer in account
6) I have recieved no email about domain from registrar.
7) Registrar currently not responding to queries about dissapearence.
8) Name seems to be held by another with creation date of 2017-11-21

How can the creation date be more that a year plus from what should be my new renwal date. I am very confused. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jay

Name looks dropped on 11-17 not 11-24

Edit, sorry - misread the post to think it was at Godaddy during the drop.

I did not intend to mention names here, but if it helps NameSilo is the registrar and they are currently not responding to my email. I was hoping someone could tell me if they ever even held the domain.

Yes I just saw Namesilo servers listed more recently on the history. @namesilo could assist perhaps.

Current registrar is PDR family.

When you say it was dropped does that mean it was not sold, transferred or deleted, hence the new creation date. Is there a way to tell when it was dropped? (this term means it expired -- correct??)

Without further research my guess is the 11-17 drop date looks like the day it fully dropped and someone snatched it a few days later.

In that senario how did they get a creation date 3 days before my expiration date? I am not even counting the grace period.

If I have more time later I'll check into it further. In the meantime maybe Namesilo can answer more (y)

Thank-you so much for your time and assistance!!!

The registrar is in the best position to explain things.

P.S.
Unless there is a special reason, always renew your domains on time, ample enough to avoid unnecessary stress.

I agree that the registrar is in the best position to explain things. But the comment hardly does me any good since you must have read that they are not responding to my emails.

Is your Postscript a public service anouncement? In my case you can clearly see I renewed the domain early.

Ah! sorry for that.
I can see the domain in question is developed with website. Is the website yours and do you have access to manage the content?

Namesilo is not the registrar.

Domain Name: ILUVMYDOC /COM
Registry Domain ID: 2189961685_DOMAIN_COM-VRSN
Registrar WHOIS Server: whois.PublicDomainRegistry.com
Registrar URL: http://www.publicdomainregistry.com
Updated Date: 2017-11-21T02:07:29Z
Creation Date: 2017-11-21T02:07:28Z
Registry Expiry Date: 2018-11-21T02:07:28Z
Registrar: PDR Ltd. d/b/a PublicDomainRegistry.com

I'm not certain a rep. from the registrar is on this forum.
There many posts and threads about the registrar here:

The current website is not mine and I do not have access to manage the content.

I am aware that NameSilo is no longer the registrar (even though from my perspective I am currently paying them to be so.)

After the renewal confirmation, I have recieved no email from NameSilo regarding the domain: No expiation notice, no grace period reminder, nothing. Didn't really expect any. Should still be registered to me untill 2018-11-25. Not till I went to renew EARLY a few days ago did I notice the domain was not in my account.

Just trying to understand how this could have happened. Does NameSilo have a good reputation?

Right but Namesilo was the registrar for the OP when this happened. PDR is the registrar of the new owner.

Sorry for persona change, I had forgotten my original account. To update:

NameSilo seems unwilling to address why the current creation date is before my expiration date.
