Why? Brandbucket Instructs Sellers to Change Their Nameservers

Brandbucket has sent out a notice instructing sellers to immediately change their nameservers to those of Brandbucket. No real reason was given. My question is whether this new requirement benefits the domain owners in any way. How does it benefit Brandbucket? Parking income? In the long run, will it increase sales for non-BB owned domains? Considering that we paid a fee to list on BB, is that retroactive requirement the right thing to do?

More explanation on this sudden request from Brandbucket would be welcome.

Why would a company request where to place my comment? Not very fair, is it?

This is a general question that involves many issues - nameservers, seller issues in general, sales, seller rights. It is not a review of names on Brandbucket but, an evaluation of policy in general for similar sites in general. .

I'd request that this comment remain here. I have already posted a similar question on BB's thread at the request of BB ambassador for the benefit of its followers and for those who might only follow that thread and not the general discussion.

Hi,
I'd be happy to answer your question. Can you please repost it at the BrandBucket Experience thread?

Have you many domains on BB?
Every domain that is approved at B.B. you can only list there. So you must change your name servers to point to B.B. or they will not list on their site.
Good luck

We've listed there for about 5 years and had at one time about 30 names; one sale. We've always properly 301 forwarded our names to BB and referred inquiries to their site. So, I just want to understand what suddenly changed.

An email was send last Friday that required us to immediately change our names servers. I found a dozen notices in my mail this morning indicating that our names are in breach of their policy. Previously, we only needed to forward the name to them. Now, we urgently have to change name servers by August 24.

The email advised that this will help them make changes down the road. I am just asking what's up.
