Nobody “wants” the economy to crash. A lot of us, including conservatives, think that current policy and recent decisions are leading us down that road.

Try not to act so happy about it then.

Fact. Not to mention, to most Americans the market doesn’t reflect real life. Lots of folks don’t have investment accounts or just have a 401k - whether the increase will mean anything to them or not depends on what happens between now and when they can start taking money out. Numbers may look good on paper, but if wages aren’t keeping up with an increased cost of living, what good is that?

I don’t worry much over ups and downs in the market - I’ve been investing long enough know that corrections happen and over time things generally increase, but the pace of the increases since mid 2017 has “bubble” written all it. The market is still reflecting corporate giddiness over massive deregulation. Tariffs, trade wars and increased health care costs are going to hit consumers where it hurts. “Tax cut” also removed a lot of deductions and that reality is going to hit the middle class next year at tax time. Cost of living increases, people spend less money, profits dip, stock market goes back down. Turnarounds, especially negative ones, can and do happen in the blink of an eye.

:xf.eek: "market is down". :xf.confused: O_o :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

Markets go up and down. Overall, the economy is up and improving.

This is the last time I'm going to explain this to you. The DJIA isn't a the market. It's an average stock price of companies in the same category.

More rambling B/S:

Last time I posted the DJIA made a record, I was quoting CNBC. The index jumped up 200 points in the last hour of trading, with a small pullback right before the close.

All that effort and you just end up owning yourself and not even realizing it. Brilliant.

And no, we don't want to see the economy tank. That's why I never supported the joke we have in office. Again, you own this now.

Trump speechwriter fired amid scrutiny of appearance with white nationalists

"A White House speechwriter for President Trump was terminated last week after revelations that he had spoken at a conference attended by well-known white nationalists, according to three people familiar with the decision who were not authorized to speak publicly.

Darren Beattie, who was a visiting instructor at Duke University before he joined the White House speechwriting team, was fired Friday after a media inquiry about his appearance at the 2016 H.L. Mencken Club conference, where Beattie spoke on a panel alongside Peter Brimelow.

Brimelow, founder of the anti-immigrant website Vdare.com, is a “white nationalist” and “regularly publishes works by white supremacists, anti-Semites, and others on the radical right,” according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, an advocacy group that tracks extremists."

House of Trump, House of Putin: The Untold Story of Donald Trump and the Russian Mafia

https://www.amazon.com/House-Trump-Putin-Untold-Russian/dp/152474350X

"It is a chilling story that begins in the 1970s, when Trump made his first splash in the booming, money-drenched world of New York real estate, and ends with Trump’s inauguration as president of the United States. That moment was the culmination of Vladimir Putin’s long mission to undermine Western democracy, a mission that he and his hand-selected group of oligarchs and Mafia kingpins had ensnared Trump in, starting more than twenty years ago with the massive bailout of a string of sensational Trump hotel and casino failures in Atlantic City. This book confirms the most incredible American paranoias about Russian malevolence.

To most, it will be a hair-raising revelation that the Cold War did not end in 1991—that it merely evolved, with Trump’s apartments offering the perfect vehicle for billions of dollars to leave the collapsing Soviet Union. In House of Trump, House of Putin, Craig Unger methodically traces the deep-rooted alliance between the highest echelons of American political operatives and the biggest players in the frightening underworld of the Russian Mafia. He traces Donald Trump’s sordid ascent from foundering real estate tycoon to leader of the free world. He traces Russia’s phoenixlike rise from the ashes of the post–Cold War Soviet Union as well as its ceaseless covert efforts to retaliate against the West and reclaim its status as a global superpower.

Without Trump, Russia would have lacked a key component in its attempts to return to imperial greatness. Without Russia, Trump would not be president. This essential book is crucial to understanding the real powers at play in the shadows of today’s world."

So basically he's saying Trump has been laundering money for the Russian Mafia.

Why call a Convention of States?
Simple: to bring power back to the states and the people, where it belongs. Unelected bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. shouldn’t be allowed to make sweeping decisions that impact millions of Americans. But right now, they do. So it all boils down to one question: Who do you think should decide what’s best for you and your family? You, or the feds? We’d vote for the American people every single time.

TL;DR Time to force the Federal Gov to live within their means and return power to the states.

DOW, NASDAQ, S&P 500 near their all time highs. Dow up 4.27% YTD, up 18.9% since last year.

For perspective, the next time @JB Lions shit post about the economy;

The DOW is up over 50% since Donald Trump became President. In 2016, when Barack Obama was President, economist believed manufacturing was never coming back to the USA, 2% GDP growth was the new normal.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 18,332.74 on November 8, 2016 a day after Donald Trump was elected President!
It closed at 25,740.49 yesterday!
That is over a 40% increase since his election! 40%!!!!
GDP way up, Unemployment way down!
U.S. workers paying less federal taxes!

What liberals worry about:

Net neutrality is going to KILL PEOPLE. ( average data speed has actually increased. )
Tax CUTS will KILL THE ECONOMY. We have more jobs than people who can work.
Letting states make their own laws, govern their own lands WILL KILL PEOPLE.
Plastic straws must be stopped!!!
Children drinking soda
Men being welcomed into women' showers and locker rooms
Gay wedding cakes.
--

What liberals don't worry about:

Criminal illegal aliens being pardoned to avoid deportation.
People sleeping, urinating and shitting on the sidewalk
Neighborhoods being terrorized by drug gangs
Managing our forest

Guys - we are talking about fiction here.
There is no Trump dividend, the growth is driven by a temporary boost from the tax cuts and reckless government spending, and the deficit is going through the roof.
You are broke and getting broker every day. Enjoy.

Remember that multiple bankrupt who said he would run the country like one of his enterprises ? Here you are. Enjoy.

We finally have a president who put the needs of U.S. citizens first! The government spending will eventually balance once the military is rebuilt. It's a temporary spending spree to, to do what's right for the military, which was gutted, when Obama decided to move money from the U.S. military to Iran! It's going to be expensive to fix the huge mess Obama put us in. Huge mess! Destruction of ISIS and ridding dangerous governments of nuclear arsenals. Once our economy and infrastructure is fixed, deficit reduction will become a priority. Guaranteed!

Trump tried to strong-arm Turkey into releasing a detained American pastor this month, but Erdogan, for the moment, appears unbowed.

"for the moment" Give it a few weeks and Erdogan will cave in to Trump's demands... naturally WAPO will never admit it.

Hey Erdogan, you're making a big mistake trying to tread on Trump. It ain't gonna work assh*le...

It's near impossible for a government to lower spending. Even if we stop the wars in the middle east, that money would go elsewhere.

Solution? Constitutional Convention. States come together, and vote on amending the Constitution requiring the Federal Gov to give back control to the states.

Yeah. That's what I get for talking with an a*hole.

Not much of a rebuttal, more understanding that you owned yourself. Then seems like you've been obsessed since.

Not sure how many times I have to go over this, you can find this stuff on your own - https://www.investopedia.com/terms/d/djia.asp

I'll try to keep this simple as possible, just for you and DNWon.

The stock market goes up over time.

Obama, especially over his last couple of years had new highs, this is normal. It seems you guys get excited when this happens.

The DOW for this year, that's 2018, is down compared to January. In January it was over 26,000, today it's under. In the future it will probably be over, see point above about it going up over time.

@mr-x posted earlier, a tweet saying the DOW hit an all-time high, was false. I take this you not really understanding things.

GDP, we literally went over that. Trump compared to Obama, had the 5th highest Quarterly. And since he's only going to be a 1 term President and the outlook isn't good, he probably will not beat him.

If you guys need any more help, simply do research on your own, buy a book and read:

The DOW is up over 50% since Donald Trump became President.

With your next post, can you share the math on that. You already posted nonsense that the DOW hit an all time high, now do that math and show everybody how the DOW is up over 50% since Trump took office, next post.

Still waiting.

Give me the DOW number when Trump became President. Give me the number now. Show me how that's over 50%. Elementary school math.

Post both numbers, then give me percentage. Do you need help on how percentages work?

Stop waiting and find a calculator. Take the low of 2016, then divide that by the current ( or if you really want to piss yourself ) the high from 2018.
