I have quite a few domains with epik, and I've just noticed their renewal option for a .com domain is $70 ?! I thought Epik was a reputable company. Now what's going on with this? @RL ?

Ask for the domainer discount price. $8.49 I believe.

I think @Rob Monster need to do more on transparent pricing. We Domainers don't like asking first. We want the price to be there.

It is a dual pricing model.

The retail customers fund all the innovation and customer service personnel. The pro domainers get domains at cost. To get domainer pricing, just tell our support team your NamePros handle.

If we charged everyone $8.49 for .COM you can be assured that there would be no great software inventions, and there would be no live support from people who speak English. :)

The alternative would be to split the brand, but that is not a great option because where we add a lot of value in helping pro domainers sell and lease their domains to retail end-users. Hence one brand.

If you are a domain industry insider, you know the Epik deal. And if you don't know the Epik deal, then you probably have not been paying attention or are new to the industry. So, be happy you now know a secret.

Sooo.. how bout' changing the title to your thread now? And next time, try doing a bit of poking before creating disparaging titled threads.

Did you read the posts after the OP? Or are you just wanting to post crap?

If you want a 'promotion', sell a name on Epik and leave the money in your account. You'll get .com hand regs, transfers, renewals for $8.10 with that money.

At least it was posted as a question. Sort of(?)

This thread was started August last year. Is spiritfly still around?

Oh, poop- missed that. My apologies. Dangers on responding to newest posts..

"poking around" looks like I could use a dose of my own medicine.

I just about missed the date, as well.

Makes me wonder if Irvin raul might have something against Epik, to have resurrected this thread and posted the crap he did.

I am not sure how this thread came back into the mix, but for anyone who does not have domainer pricing, you can contact us, or use this link to sign up:

http://www.epik.com/?affid=fi6gu9da4

You also get:

- Free WHOIS privacy
- Free forwarding
- Free Wordpress
- Free SSL certificates
- Free escrow
- Free domain management
- Free landing pages
- Free CDN and DDoS protection (on some products)
- Free domain finding tools (e.g. NameInvestors.com)
- Free appraisals and fairness opinions
- Free custom marketplace and domain store

It is a deal that is hard to beat -- if it can be free, odd are it will be free.

The dual-pricing model has been in operation for many years. It is a core strategy that funds innovation, 24/7 live support, interest-free loans, grace periods, and domainer promos like $6.99 .com transfers.

As for those retail customers don't shed a tear for them. They still get great value with most of them having just 1-2 names that they use actively because they bought them from a domain investor!

Unless Epik's changed it, 8.10 for .com if you prefund with something that doesn't charge a fee like credit cards do.

As a btw, in case there's some confusion understanding some previous posts of mine on this thread: Some of my previous comments were directed at someone whose posts it looks like the mods went and deleted.

interesting. Epik is looking to be my official "stay with" registrar. I mean

right now there are no $6.49 transfers. And the current transfer deal for Epik is $7.99 and renewal with the option you mentioned is like what? 10 cents more? I really don't see any reason to transfer out if the savings in doing so if the next transfer out rate is just $7.99 which right now is nobody.

tired of having to create transfer lists and all that bs for all my domains right now. and having to sift thru.

Although to be honest with as many domains as I own. It's good to transfer out sometimes because of this not just to save money but to not be complacent in sifting thru your lists to weed out some of the suck.

Sorry @Rob Monster just being honest.

I am a lazy domainer and now if I stay with @epik I'll probably just renew domains I probably shouldn't but just leave them be and let them burn a hole in my pocket. lol

that's never good.

I guess I just need to make sure I check my lists every year at Epik.

And I don't even have a "to do" list. lol

You might be "lazy" but you write a lot, occasionally stirring the pot.

As for transfers, the .com transfer promo is still on at $6.99 for all-inclusive .com transfer.

The .com renewal is $8.10 for wire/BTC or $8.49 for other payment methods.

However, to each his own. :)
