@Undeveloped , can you share :

1. how much percentage of your total inventory sells in a year ?
2. how many domains sells in a year and avg price ?

i feel that you should share these statistics if you want yourself to standout among peers and become the most trusted marketplace.ever.

@Undeveloped
There should be an option to customize sales settings on an individual basis for domains.
Currently it's either BIN & Make Offer (or) BIN for all (or) Make offer for all domains listed.
If i wanted to set straight BIN for a few and opt for 'BIN & Make Offer' for others, it wouldn't be possible right now and i believe this is one of the elemental aspects that has to fixed at Undeveloped.

@Undeveloped Sorry to bother with more questions... Do you have an idea what works best at Undeveloped: Pure Buy Now listings or Buy Now with the option to make an offer?

Thanks.

I'd prefer to give you personal advise based on your portfolio but if we really generalise the data we have then having the BIN listing + installments is the best performing option.

BIN + Make Offer invites buyers to place an offer rather than making a direct purchase decision which tends to lead to lower total revenue.

But again, the problem here is that every portfolio is different and sellers tend to have different pricing strategies which deserve a different set-up.

I'd suggest the following based on the type of sellers we often see:

1: If you know exactly at what prices domains sell and have designed a pricing strategy or formula that's proven to work, then we'd suggest to use BIN listing + installments enabled.

2: If you're still discovering what the sweet spot of your portfolio should be in terms of pricing, then we'd suggest to use BIN listing + installments enabled + make offer enabled.

3: Do you have no idea what pricing model to use? Enable make offer and lower your openings bid to just $1 and collect as many as leads possible. The negotiations you'll have will help you form an idea.

If you then select 3 to 5 pricing brackets of for example:

1: $399
2: $799
3: $995
4: $1599
5: $2295

And implement those prices based on the quality of your names, you can start finding out what the sweet spot in terms of pricing is for your portfolio.

The general rule is, if you're selling more domains than expected, increase your bracket prices by $100-$200. If you're not selling enough names, decrease the bracket prices until you can't influence the total outcome significantly anymore.

Since domain sales are also not extremely liquid, I'd advise to have each experiment active for at least 2-3 months so you can collect enough data and zone out outlier months.

I hope this helps!

Reza

Hi Harsh,

I understand this is interesting info, but it's not information that we're sharing at the moment.

Hi Innoverge,

You can already do almost everything you're requesting in the current setup. I do understand having the option to determine which options to make available per domain basis would be more helpful but we didn't really focus on that as we couldn't see a clear use case where someone would change the settings for hundreds if not thousands of domains individually.

What you currently can do in the system:

1: If you'd like to only work with BIN or Make Offer only then in your settings (https://undeveloped.com/users/settings/for_sale) change your buying options to BIN only.

Add BIN's for all domains you'd like to have a BIN and leave the other prices empty so automatically the Make Offer form will show on those names.

2: If you'd like to work with BIN and Make offer at the same time, in your settings enable buy now & Make offer.

For domains that you don't wish to receive any offers and only wish to work with BIN's, add the BIN price as openings bid to prevent offers below the BIN price to be sent.

Now I understand the above isn't the optimal way to do it so we'll make a note of this request but that's how others have solved this issue successfully.

Kind regards,

Reza

Thanks @Undeveloped for a topnotch domain marketplace.
Can we deselect this now?

Hi DNGear,

Yes you can if that's what you prefer. We don't force http to https explicitly yet on parking so the redirect feature can still add some value as we do force that at Undeveloped.com. Also, it seems to help build confidence between the escrow service (Undeveloped) and the buyer when doing a full redirect as people land on Undeveloped.com directly.

But the choice is now up to each seller to use the setting they prefer.

Kind regards,

Reza

@Undeveloped HI Reza, I have Best offer enabled on BIN listings, but I don't want people submitting offers on my lower priced $295 - $500 BIN names. Is there a plan for the future to make it where we can disable Best Offer on certain BIN names? Thanks.

@tomcarl, as said above there is no way to do that right now but a way to emulate it is to set the minimum offer to the same as your BIN price. An option like you and others have said would be appreciated by @Undeveloped but at least there is this workaround at the moment.

Hey @Undeveloped - one request: Would like to be able to change the default when someone lands on our profile page. Right now, the default is relevance, but I think when you just land without doing a search that means short to long in terms of domain length. For us, our better domains are buried in that method since some of our shorter ones are our less-valuable non-dot coms. And I suspect most people who land on the page don't change the sort method (and, as a result, may just leave without scrolling down to some of our better names). Would prefer the default is high to low in terms of price, or even better that sellers could change the default in their settings. Thanks!

Though a good suggestion, better yet would be to have a fully customizable portfolio interface that includes categorization, sorting, and filtering.

The idea behind my request is for some domains i might want to set direct BIN prices at the minimum threshold for quick turnover and in turn avoid unnecessary back and forth.
For a few i might want to use 'MakeOffer & BIN' since i have a price in mind to convey(esp. those in the mid to high $XX,XXX ) but, would want to leave some wiggle room for negotiations.

The possible downside of setting minimum bids that high without a hint of an asking price in sight is, it might scare a few buyers off or at the very least make them reluctant to make that high an offer, only to be possibly rejected or leading to a taxing back and forth.

Anyways appreciate you've taken note of it and i believe it could make a huge difference.

If a potential buyer is scared off by minimum offer == BIN, then so too would they be scared off by BIN only, no?

If you're not looking to accept offers below the BIN, then Make Offer (at BIN price) + BIN is functionally the same as BIN only.

Maybe I've misunderstood something - please let me know if so.

If you're implying setting up BIN+ Make Offer (Min Bid at BIN price) might be functionally the same as BIN only..Yes but, when a buyer sees the Make Offer option, he's lead to believe for a moment that there might be scope for negotiation, until he finds out that the minimum bid allowed is the same as BIN price and the Make Offer option was misleading and unnecessary.
The point is to uncomplicate things as much as possible for them and being straight forward at presenting options.

When I opt for BIN only, it's priced to be no-brainer for a serious buyer.

And I believe minimum bid's are construed to be the starting point of a negotiation and it's implied that the asking price might be more.So when one opts for Make Offer option setting Min. bid at BIN, there's a valid possibility the buyer might move on, who might have otherwise considered hitting BIN.

Hope this clarifies.

@Undeveloped, could a quick fix until a proper solution is put in be to check if the Minimum is the same as the BIN and therefore disable showing the offer options on the purchase page?

That could actually work as a quick solution for now. I'll check with our product team if there are no unforeseen issues with doing this. If there are none, we can likely ship this next week!

Quick update!

We've upgraded our infrastructure this morning. The average load time of your for sale pages with us is now around just 1 second for the more heavy for sale pages. Less heavy landers (without traffic stats for example) can load under 1 second if the buyer has a standard or fast internet connection.

This should help you sell more domains and get your domains better indexed in Google (site speed is an important factor).

Hi Wackawacka,

Thank you for the feedback. I've also seen other feedback about the profile page and we tend to continuously implement improvements in iterations so we'll take this feedback into account.

Also the option to show your domains differently has been taken into account. We'll likely end up building a more advanced storefront. A bit inspired by how Etsy does that for their sellers: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TopVinylDecal?ref=l2-shopheader-name

We do need to prioritise our product improvements and have some higher impact items to ship first. But we'll get there ;)

Kind regards,
Reza

Whenever I deselect the "redirect your buyer to internal.." GA will track the visit, but will only show this "/" without signifying the domain that has the visits. Pls is there any solution to this?
