Hello,

I have the exact match domain for something that a big company is doing that will change the world. I have their exact match domain for what they will be doing. I think I can make a big profit, but I really don't want to screw this up. Anyone have any tips on outbounding a very valuable domain to a company? (They are going to want the domain, it's their exact match). Please take this seriously since I am actually serious about this; I'm not talking about skdhdvsjcbdbcbeb.trash or even 3/d/o/u/b/l/e/3.com or 2/f/o/u/r/1.com or N/e/w/H/a/m/p/s/h/i/r/e/B/r/o/k/e/r.com. This domain is even more valuable than those by miles. I believe what this company is doing will change the world. Please all tips are greatly appreciated and really welcomed! :)

P.S for anyone scheptical no it's not .org or .net or .biz it's .com . Yes it is a hand reg (someone had to be the first person in line to register x.com and google.com and duck.com right? This time it was me (y)). It also doesn't have numbers or hyphens or typos. It's also not trademarked (I am ahead of the game). Hopefully this will be my ticket away from struggling to sell domains (I started in early June 2018).

Thanks everyone!

Anyway, the best move is... wait! :xf.cool:

If you really want to get views of esteemed members, you'll need to reveal the smallest piece of information and that is name of your domain.

I'm afraid it will start a wave of domainers into the space to kill me by taking all the other domains in the space (I'm down to my last money here so I couldn't go all in like I wanted to). Thanks for your comments :).

Thanks, I guess you're right. I set up the site to have a sales page. Thanks for your comments :)

Anyone have any recommendations for what platform to sell on? Any ideas or pricing? I don't want to get screwed or anything.

I don't wish to dampen any Spirit but, do remember Companies have many projects and they don't always want to retain every relevant domain. I'm pretty sure if it's a big enough business with its own marketing, it's probably looking to go with it's own brand name rather than the descriptive.

The second point that you mention it's 'world-changing' yet you apparently can only identify one company as a user/developer, that's a bit worrying as it also implies just one potential customer.

However, I do agree with the comments of wait and see, keep your eye-on-the-ball and see what develops, It could be many years before anything turns-up. Trying to 'outbound' the domain at this point may just leave you with a No-reply response, See what happens when the project comes to market

This one company will be changing the whole industry. This will be big! This is like having iCloud.com before Apple releases iCloud.

You seem to have "the value" of this domain under control.

If there is a TM don't contact them. If there is not a TM and you can establish fair use then contact them.

With that said, many companies don't care about their exact match domain name unless their non-ownership becomes a problem.

No trademark. The value is definitely there which is why I can't name the name. If I did people would tell me there is no value while they dump loads of money to get all the domains in the industry.

iCloud was a branding term, it certainly wasn't generic , and it was hardly the descriptive/dictionary use for the word 'Cloud',
I've actually been in a similar position on a domain many, many years ago, .Mic****ft, yep the big boys just then went with a shorter acronym for their product, even though they had the net/org/info/biz and I the .com. Good names don't help when there is just one potential buyer, believe me

Thanks for the tip, I'll try to be careful then. I set a seven figure buy it now so if they want they can just snag it.

Hope there is also a OBO on that lander. Like everyone else if they REALLY wanted the domain to go with their new product they would either already own it, contacted you by now Or even bought the other extensions as well. What you have is just a dream...just like every other domainer (including me)

I regged it two days ago and the landing page is not active yet. I have a Make an Offer but it's minimum is at seven figures.

You remind me of some of my early days 1999 and thereabouts when sometimes I just couldn't sleep at night due to my 'great registrations'. Many a smile since but definitely a much more subdued outlook has helped me just take things as they come, rather than build some Great 'domain sale' Picture in my mind

In addition to the advice offered, if possible, I would get in the "space" of the company without making, yet, a formal inquiry. This may be hard to do, but if on Twitter perhaps follow them, perhaps try to get connected to people that connect with them on LinkedIn, etc. You must be sure there are no TM issues (difficult to assess this from what we know). I am also surprised by the comment that only a single company - it is hard to imagine anything these days that only one company is interested in. I would do as much research as you can to find other potential leads, as the more competition the better for getting a good price on a domain name. Good luck, and be sure to update us if you do manage to make a sale!

Thanks for your rrplr! They are about to allow investors to invest soon. I will try to get in the field. There's only like 1000 results in Google right now. I'm really early. I hope I don't mess up.

If its really that great of a name then just throw a sales lander on there and be patient. The big fish might take awhile to bite.

Thanks, I really hope I can sell it. I debating on whether I should go with Escrow or Afternic or something else. I'm really not a fan of high fees.

Hey guys, I just read that they are currently buying up their domains. Do you think now is the time? The article is from May.

If they were buying domains in May, why would they have skipped yours?

What's what makes me skeptical. But my analogy so yiy can see the situation is it's like if Apple brought applecloudproduct.com but advertised as Apple Cloud Product (iCloud) and didn't buy icloud.com. I wish I had an NDA and/or NCA that I could use so I could tell the exact domain name.
