>> Has anybody had a name accepted after 6/30? I still have some pending review from 6/30 through 7/17

@wackawacka1 -

Same scenario for us. We received a round of rejections the past 3-4 days, but several names remain in the (submitted) Pending Review queue - as far back as the same date as you mentioned - 06/30 (June 30th).

It appears they are making a huge push recently to catch up on the backlog of Pending Editorial/Logo pile up. As of yesterday, we had several names in the backlog line that have been in the Pending Editorial / Logo queue as far as back as 18 days.

Then in the past 48 hours we had 9 of the 11 names moved out of the queue and went LIVE (were Published) the past 2 nights. Good news.

Pending Review (submission queue): 06/30
Pending Editorial (waiting for logo/editing/final review): most caught up / few names for us in the queue

After 17 days one of my domain was reviewed and approved but now it is already taken. 17 days is a long time and probability of loosing an unregistered name in this period is high. This has happened second time when I couldn't register an approved name and yet again a Chinese user has grabbed it.

I guess these things are part and parcel of brandable domaining and it is better to move on.

But what I don't understand is severe lack of communication with sellers from BB's side. I am not talking about a private chat/collaboration channel. If there are delays in review process or any other issues, why can't BB notify sellers? Even a simple one liner on Twitter will at least inform sellers.

I think that with so many domains and registered sellers, BB seems to be very busy and communication with sellers has taken a hit.

I asked it upfront & BB replied me that because sudden surge of submitted domain name there approval getting delayed. But I got another email 2 days back informing me they have hired more reviewers to get reviewing on track.

Why you are asking?

in case I buy some what is sold here(already published) my account must be in good standing to receive the domains..

it says the account must score A & B, in the last 2 circles. Well, the one of those is disabled.

why do you think im asking. lol

@MS-Domains -

A quick response to your question.

In your SCORE section on your BB Dashboard, what color are each of your 3 circles? grey / red / green?

Please post a screen shot of your 3 SCORE circles and that will provide us the necessary data to let you know your account status.

Thanks,

-Cougar

Perfect! Thanks for the screen shot.

The 2 circles you care about (as it relates to being "In Good Standing" with BB) are the 2 circles to the right.

Both circles to the right are BRIGHT GREEN which is what you want to see. Step # 1 of the test is Good.

Now onto Step # 2...

One other screen shot will help verify your account status. In the top right of your BB Dashboard, you will have a summary section in a big grey box containing data for Credits / Domains / Logos.

Please provide that screen shot.

Thanks,

-Cougar

@MS-Domains

For the 2nd test, you are looking for the (blue) text "Join Our Slack Channel" displayed under the Domains section of your Summary (please see above screen shot).

And... success!! The answer to your original question is - your account is "In Good Standing".

The background info...

1) Yes, the 2 circles to the right in your SCORE section need to be BRIGHT GREEN.

2) In addition - some folks don't know this - but BB runs a program every night and recalculates their "Good Standing" score for each account nightly. It is not real-time, it is a nightly batch run. After the calculation is run at night, those accounts that meet the "Good Standing" status will display the (blue) text "Join Our Slack Channel"

As a group, we submit quite a few names to BB each week and have sold and transferred many names to a couple dozens BB members over the past 6 months supporting their inventory growth needs. When the name transfer (BB push) is not successful with a buyer and we get an error message indicating the receiving account is "Not in Good Standing", we ask the buyer to provide us the above 2 screen shots to help diagnose their account status and the root cause of the error message.

I hope the insight is helpful...

"Cougar"

ps: Why doesn't BB have text in the top right Summary section that simply states "Account Status: Good Standing" or the alternative "Account Status: Not in Good Standing" ? No clue! Sort of seems obvious that's what should be provided, because I can tell you I get asked this question a couple times a month on NamePros from various buyers - BB members who want to build their inventory via acquisition, but can't determine with certainty what their account status currently is as it's not indicated (clearly outlined) on their BB Dashboard for reference purposes.

ps: I guess my question to BB would be - why not clearly state the account status (standing) for each user in their Dashboard? (sort of seems to be an easy fix and a helpful user insight)

Cougar, that's an excellent suggestion, I'll pass it along
@MS-Domains New sellers are on a sort of probation until they get about 10 names published on the BB platform. Then when they have a proven track record of published their accepted names, the seller gets Good Standing status. I hope that's helpful. I know it is confusing.

Hi @Keith DeBoer -

Thanks for passing the suggestion along.

It is a question I get often and by having one's "account standing" clearly displayed in the Summary section of the User's Dashboard would be terrific and would clear up a lot of confusion. (especially for new members)

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Keith

thank you.. so I can't receive any domains I may buy here, into my account..

Often times if the seller/buyer emails the help desk, the domains can be transferred to your account if the only reason you do not have good standing is that you have not met the min. requirement for published names. But check with the help desk in advance to be sure. Their email is: [email protected]

This is very good feedback and a good suggestion to alert sellers about delays. I've passed this suggestion along to BB's seller rep. Thanks for taking the time to give feedback.

I am also aware of BrandBucket's search result conspiracy. I did find that myself, when I would search a keyword there would be some totally unrelated, madeup domains at 1st position or 2nd position (not 1st or 2nd page), sometime multiple madeup domains, owned by same person . When I'd look up whois to find the owner it'd either Boxador or former Managing Director MK's name. That was before Boxador portfolio moved to Namesilo and used privacy for whois.

NP member 'offthehandle' wrote a detailed post regarding this conspiracy.

To show proof of my statement above -

So this morning I was doing a Brandbucket search for keyword "Vision", noticed 2 pure madeup brandable domain without any relation to word "Vision" at 1st and 3rd place.

vision.png

I wanted to see who own these 2 domains. And without my surprise - they both owned by Boxador.

When I first noticed the search results are favoring the BB insiders - probably 1.5 / 2 years ago that time Boxador / Margot started to move their portfolio to Namesilo to use free privacy. So if I wanted to see who owns those pure madeup brandables coming at top of search results, I would see those are at Namesilo using privacy but no way to be sure who was the owner.

Since these 2 madeup names of "Vision" result page are at GoDaddy and whois info is public, I just wanted to show others who don't believe BB search results are rigged.

Both these domains contain word "vision" in descriptions/tags, may be it is because of that?

The search results seem relevant to me as per the query entered in the search box. However, it could be possible that within these relevant results, they may be pushing their own names up higher.
