I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

yah Whiskey / Whisky is one of those words that is spelled a cpl different ways, depending on country. I was just commenting on the actual domain that was listed.

Regardless, that spelling difference brings down the value of the domain significantly.

I have some domains like Theatre or Theater
Centre or Center

I won't be pursuing any more dual spelling word combinations, it's way easier to pass on them and move to something else

HeHe..... rye.ca anyone?

Really...spelling brings it down significially! End user decides the value of a domain....pretty sure the owner of priide would agree!!

Priide is a brandable, therefore in a bit of a different category

MapleTheatre.ca
MapleTheatre.com
MapleTheater.ca
MapleTheater.com

MapleCentre.ca
MapleCentre.com
MapleCenter.ca
MapleCenter.com

Too much, I need 4 variations where with a single spell I only need two variations.

Interesting.... "CanadianClub.ca" Trademark?

SturgeonFalls.ca a city/town I used to visit..

Technically has canadian/canada in there twice

club.ca implies canadian and that would be the money shot

Canadian Club Whiskey trademark, potentially yes, but if you actually wanted to buy and use it in an alternative venue....

And it went 3rd overall, with MyID naturally pulling in DDA.ca first. :xf.rolleyes:

Pretty weak week with only 95 domains selected, and nothing catching my eye past maybe 30 or so.

What is surprising is how early the LLL's are being taken - they all went in the Top 15 this week - I'm not exactly seeing a lot of $$$ aftermarket sales in this sector, so what's up?

And sorry if I seemed to disappear for a few weeks, but I took some vacation time to move houses (to a brand new development) and naturally, in addition to all the other demands, Bell screwed up the Internet install 3 times over a period of a week and a half, all while my cell phone data plan was empty with 5 days left in the month....

And all during an unprecedented heat wave of epic proportions.

Let me tell you, buying a brand new house is like buying a car frame - you need to install everything, like everything, from window coverings to eaves-troughs to air conditioning to appliances - I *knew* this going in, but you never really "know, know it" until you've walked through the shit and come out clean on the other side.

But everything's done now, the Internet is blazing fast (like over a Gbps), the air is cool, the rain doesn't dribble onto my head, and I installed all the appliances and they all work (!), so life is back to being good again.

For now at least... but the next thing I'll be moving to will be pine and a whole lot smaller. :xf.laugh:

That must have been fun during the recent global boiling.

Lol...yes quite the global warming up north...but glad not doing this during late fall or winter, the electrical/gas/heating bills would cut into my budget.. My thinking is that a well insulated house is "added value to the end user" easier to close the deal when they know that are "getting more bang for their buck"

Congrats on your new home! Sometime you can save lots of money, supplying your own stuff compared to a "turn key" house..

MyId.ca

Had an experience with a member here where it took forever to get a domain out.
I have been trying to purchase some domains there and they need a drivers license for authentification.

I sent it June 14th and still no response.

TO ANYONE LISTING AT MYID.CA

WE CANNOT BUY YOUR DOMAINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sometimes do not have much luck with Myid support either. Namespro is my favourite when it comes to customer support for .ca’s.

MyID caught evil.ca when it dropped. I was in a Dennys in Calgary when the auction started. I attempted to log in to my account-no can do. So i tried a password reset. Nothing came in to my email. Try the reset again - nothing comes into my email. I email support, no response. Panic sets in. I initiate a 3rd password reset. Nothing comes in. I have to make an appointment in downtown Calgary.

I finish the appointment I still can't get into my account. Now I'm really mad, I hit my rainy day fund for that name. By this time I'm pretty sure the auction is over. It's mid afternoon in Calgary and I start heading for the coast. I stop in Golden BC, 3 hrs West to check my email. There's one from MyID which says in a bitchy tone that they didn't get my support request in time.

The Kicker? I get home I boot up my PC and auto login with my original username and password. I can find no record of the auction in my account. I send them an email asking what happened again they say I didn't contact them soon enough. So i ask them how much it sold for. Over $2000 is their answer.

Maybe it's my own fault, I did say in this thread that I wanted the name and that can attract the wrong kind of attention.

In any case I won't use them again.

Sibername is up there with Pool if not ahead of them. Pool use to be quite good at catching TBR’s but now they suck! Myid is definetely the best one for TBR’s.

You're right about Sibername, but if Pool really wants a name, they bring out the guns blazing to get it.

Sibername works OK for me for TBR.
