This thread is a central location to report domain name sales of any dollar amount.

As much information as you can include about the transaction is welcome, but at a bare minimum please include the domain name(s), the sale price, and whether you were the seller.

Good luck with your sales!

Please use the Like and Thank links on a post to indicate that you like it or are thankful for it being shared.

Do not post only, "great sale" or similar as this doesn't contribute to the thread. (Don't reply for the sole purpose of complimenting.)
  • Tip: Use the Like/Thanks feature instead.

Questions are allowed, but do not post commentary. If you want to discuss or comment on a sale in this thread, quote it and then post it in the following thread instead:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Nice sale
Is Park.io still open for sellers? Existing established sellers maybe? They publish no info or FAQ about their sellers policy.
If you’ve bought a name there and it’s managed there then there is an option under the domain settings to add a buy it now price.

Sold sanad dot org for $133 at Afternic bin.
Acquired as deleted domain.

longislandlivemusic dot com for $133 through undeveloped.

Regd for $6.99 after seeing on expiredomains list. Hold time <30 days.

(I like the $133 pricing for quick sales. Gonna try this and low numbers like $166, $188, $233, for no-traffic, non-movers.)

Took a 1K loss on ExclusiveAutos.com. Purchased for $1,350 in 2006, sold this month for $499.

I purchased ExclusiveAutos.com right after selling autocollector.com for $10K+ at auction. Autocollector.com sold last year for $179 ( source namebio ).

Even though the automotive market is huge, automotive domains don't fetch big prices unless they are truly generic premium. UsedCarsForSale.com was a unicorn.

Am I wrong? Should I have waited for more?

if anything then this shows the big difference in keyword qty/value for car vs auto... imo it gets even worse in plural.. for autos.

I'd hang on for more on exclusiveautos personally.. I mean at least get your money back.. there isn't much lower than $500 u could get anyway...

but I feel even more for the guy who lost almost 10k on his autocollector buy

Agree re: autos vs auto or cars. 12 years was long enough to wait with no offers over $500.

Must have been requests thread. Auctions never reach such prices on NP.

$800 for shooting.net is dirt cheap.
I was negotiating with seller for almost 3 months and initial asking price was 2k. I have offered an instant paypal payment. Might be risky to send 800 usd directly but worth of it!

**** I stand corrected. After reviewing some info, I now realize that the name was a hand reg and not a buy here on NP.

Domain: aboat.me hand reg from godaddy in Oct . 2017 for 3.6$
Venue: domainagents.com
Price: $310 (inbound make offer)
Net after commissions: $290
Owned the domain for approx. 9 months

The story: domainagents.com is a platform I'd never heard of until I got their email, saying a buyer wanted to buy my domain. Then I signed up their site and signed in, finding that an initial offer of 200$ had been there made. Then I countered 2200$,then a day later, the buyer canceled the negotiation, saying the price was too steep and that he was a student starting a side project. Then I opened the negotiation again starting with 310$, then a week after, buyer accepted it. The trade was processed via escrow.com, buyer paid the fee. But the wire transfer to my bank cost 20$.

In hindsight: I think there is some money left on the table. I should've have made a new offer of 1K or sth. Then maybe the buyer would counter 0.5K or higher. Rich students are everywhere. Anyway, being my first inbound make offer sale, some negotiation skills or experience may be wanted there. And I should've been more patient. However, given the fact that the buyer first paid a 19.9$ to get a domainagents credit to start negotiation and the escrow fee was on his side and the nice surprise I received when the first email came in , I should be "more or less" satisfied. After all, 290$ is still something.
