Donuts is the registry for .Domains, and you might say I've gone a little overboard buying the following:

Divine.Domains
Theme.Domains
Banking.Domains
Vacation.Domains
NameGame.Domains
Progressive.Domains

If you do have any...do you have plans to develop them?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
.Domains really looks like an extension for domainers and registrars (can't really think of any other end users).
The few that I have seen in the wild were all domainers portfolios.

I just dropped my forum name talking.domains, I don't need portfolio site and it looks amateurish for anything serious (95% of my names are .com)

I also agree that I don't see this domain extension being targeted for end users.

It doesn't look professional, especially given plenty of short, meaningful, commercial alternatives.

The registry has been struggling for the last 3 years to retain a measly 7,000 registrations. The writing is on the wall with this one. As hard as it may be, I'd drop them.

We agree again:xf.wink:...each of the .Domains names I registered are for the purpose of drawing a specific audience. Take Divine.Domains for example, it's purpose is to introduce domaining to the church and religious crowd throughout the world. I could have used "Divinity" domains, but I'm saving that for a .com I intend to use.

I own avail.domains as the counterpart to my primary domain. More so for the novelty than anything else, but it also provides a sandbox for potential improvements/utilities that I don't necessarily want active on my main website.

I may develop them in the near future.

I really like Develop.Domains....take a look at the GD appraisal and analysis. Develop.co sold for $3,766 and Develop.me sold for $2,550. DevelopDomains.com is gone, however this is almost as good. There are over 1.2M Website developers in the US alone, thus there should be a huge market for it if you choose to sell it.....Good Luck!

I dropped develop, domains last year. Hopefully you have more luck with it than I did.

I still have these 2:
Available,domains
Web,domains

I was considering regging Alternative.Domains the other day, but as I've learned I have stopped handregging on impulse. Instead, I thought about it for a while and did some research on the extension.

I changed my mind. Although "Alternative Domains" would be a nice portfolio site for new TLDs, I just don't feel it. And the terms in .com are taken and trying to sell for around $1.5k. Lost my appetite.

I never much considered the extension. I think it would work ideally for a domain portfolio, particularly one that mainly handled new extensions.

I doubt that there is much resale market for names though. At DNPric.es they do show 13 sales with an average price of $380, although one sale, of a(.)domains at 2400 Euro influence that average a lot. I do see that top(.)domains sold on Sedo for $750, and I think some of the more appropriate words to go with the extension might garner some $$$.
http://dnpric.es/?q=.domains

I notice that NameBio give some not listed on DNPric.es, including sub(.)domains for $4000 last year.

Bob...thanks. Since I started this thread I picked up DomainScoring.com after realizing no one has specifically realized the need for "scoring" domains, not to be confused with "appraising" domains. Scoring can be done on everything from credit, to health testing, to figure skating competition. Why not domains?
Thus, to compliment DomainScoring.com, I just added Score.Domains

Contrary to the thinking these names might only be used by domainers, registrars or portfolios, the "scoring" names that I've registered are more for an end user like credit bureaus (for credit scoring), healthcare facilities (for health scoring) or performance scoring (for things like skating, dance, boxing)

Thanks again Bob

I have 1 that I redirect to my main domain name sales site. Probably the only one I'll ever buy. Bought it because as a hack it matches my site name. Novelty purposes or dead on gems usually the only reason I stray from .com

I picked up DotCom.Domains some time ago, it just seemed like a great play on words. Will likely be a portfolio site soon, as what else would you do with it?

I don't own any currently, but still considering the possibility. Not high on my priority, but not right off of it either. In the ones @Bulloney started the thread with I like theme and progressive.

If I bought one personally, it would only be one, and use it as a redirect in a marketing campaign for domain names.
