As per the title:Please showcase your brandable .ca's
I'm willing to develop a brandable marketplace exclusively for .ca's, if the quality is there. Please post your best 3,5,10,20 brandable .ca's.

I'll start below.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
My best three are these:
Infinis.ca -Latin
TerraVox.ca -Latin
Vigis.ca -completely made up.

Some names are empty vessels:
Xoyo.ca
Kalm.ca
Impunity.ca
NexLink.ca

Some are suggestive of their meaning:
Sitz.ca
Seedy.ca
Estima.ca
Fitcore.ca

Some can be short:
Gxp.ca
Exos.ca

Some are longer:
Equanomics.ca
DigitalDexterity.ca
GrowMasters.ca

Some are actual products and services:
Kiln.ca
Sriracha.ca

In any case if I'm going to launch a marketplace I'll need to start with 300-500 names.

Please post yours.

What kind of pricepoint would you be looking for to submit names to a site? Assuming there would be a sunrise option of either a discount period after the site goes live or a set number of free submissions to stock the site. I think the commission will be on the low side, I don't want to commit to a number until I'm further along in development.

Off the top of my head...

Toucan.ca

Misfits.ca

Pharaoh.ca

Koifish.ca

Accomplice.ca

Bittersweet.ca

But, I have dozens more I might be willing to list in such a marketplace. :)

I think the idea of a showcase for brandable .ca is a great idea. I don't do much in brandable, but a couple I have are:

DIYI.ca
codely.ca

(possibly funner.ca -- was not intended as a brandable)

I think this is a fantastic idea, if executed effectively. I'd love to see some strong .ca domains end up in front of the right pairs of eyes.

I would have the following to contribute:

Woke
Similar
Snowed
Bests
Huo
Equi
Equus
To6
Rhombus
Happi
Shoo
Tock
However
Jellies

+ plenty more, including many 3 letter brandables.

The list goes on - you can see them in their entirety here:

AvailDomains.com/Canadian

You have some good ones! I especially love Rhombus. Many potential users. That's the quality I'm looking for.

OK, so can we re-define brandables again please

Traditionally I look at them as made up words or short forms or combination of letters.

So are we looking for real words too?

something like smooth.ca ?

You already have one of the best brandable in the extension.
A brand can be made up - like Telus or "real" words like indigo or tangerine.

Smooth is another very good brandable.

I'm on the road right now but I'll try and expand my thinking when I return.

The simplest description is the most effective in this instance. A brandable domain is one on which a brand can be built. For this reason, I argue that some single words qualify here.

Consider Hamster.ca for example - they don't sell hamsters.

Additionally, if there's to be a centralized marketplace for Canadian domains to which qualified + interested eyes will be lead, I think it would be worthwhile to aggregate all available quality domains (that fit given criteria) from this community. It's mutually beneficial, as it increases the depth of quality in the domain pool offered, while increasing the clout of the platform.

Interested to hear others' opinions.

I would agree with that suggestion to include a limited number of high quality domains, whether one considers them brandable or not

I agree with Joshuas definition of a brandable. A domain name that a company can build a business on is a "brandable". That should really be the only definition. It's fairly easy to categorize within that definition for those that need to.

Empty vessel: One of Andrew Roseners catchphrases. A quality, usually one word name, that has appeal to many industries. Roseners says that it's ready to be filled with a company's "secret sauce". Your smooth.ca fits into this category I think. Whatever industry you sell that into will be able to brand themselves as a company that doesn't create obstacles, obstructions, bumps in the road or problems but offers a hassle free customer experience. Think construction,media/communications/public relations, law, autoparts(suspensions, shocks, tires),roadbuilding, record label. You get the idea. Rhombus is another example.

Product/Service: Something like Toys.ca (I don't own it). A name that perfectly describes the product/service on offer.

Suggestive: A name that implies it's potential use. I'll use one of my own. Vigis.ca-It doesn't mean anything in any language, but it implies "vigilance, watchfulness". It lends itself to certain industries-security,alarms,finances(stock watch, analysis).

Acronyms/3ls/4ls: This category is fairly obvious.

MadeUp: Google is the obvious example.

So there's 5 broad categories for brandable names. By no means exhaustive.

Quality names in those categories are welcome to be submitted when the site is ready. I will do my very best to put them in front of quality eyes.

I agree wholeheartedly with these sentiments. A worthwhile elaboration on the points I made above.

Really excited to see what this marketplace grows into.

Need to see more names that members would be willing to submit. I need 300+ quality names to consider moving forward.

Does anyone want an exclusive .ca marketplace?

A quick update:

I won't be using DomainCafe.ca, I'm going back to my original purpose on that one. But I liked the cafe aspect. To me it signifies warmth and friendliness...a gathering place. I think that it was reminiscent of Stuart McLeans "VinylCafe". I want to have that kind of vibe. Fortunately, I was able to hand register "BrandCafe.ca". I think that fits the bill quite nicely...at least until something better comes along.:xf.cool:

My strengths are not in web design/development so I'm establishing a pre-cursor site at "995Brands.com". The purpose of this site is basically to allow me to learn the ins and outs of design/seo and promotion. The gist is brands in multiple extensions starting at $995. These will be my own brands - sorry no submissions. There won't be anything high end, I won't be pricing anything more than $3.5k-$5k. Most will be at the $995 pricepoint. Sedo will be taking the payments, so no worries about the transfers.

995Brands should be ready in about 6 weeks---ish. Sometime in August I'm sure. BrandCafe should be 3-6 months behind. I'm putting real money into these sites - my own, but I am only a part timer so please be patient. I'm still driving 12,000 miles every month, 26-28 days/month. Fortunately, I'm a workaholic with a big data plan.:xf.smile:

I appreciate the words of encouragement and support from all of you. I welcome suggestions and constructive criticism in this thread or by PM.

I am committed to building an exclusive .ca marketplace where domain owners will be proud to showcase their best names. A pipeline to Canada's C Suite.
