In this thread, I will give you my opinion about your submitted new gTLD domain name.

I will focus not only on its numerical appraisal, but also will take other factors into consideration (mainly renewal fee and what you do with the name, where it is presented, etc), to debate whether it is a good investment choice (in my opinion). Just because I am a new gTLD investor it does not mean that I will give good opinion on crappy names - so I will tell you when I see no value or potential. To see examples of new gTLD domain names I personally invest in, you can check my website www.brands.international.

Rules:
1. Only 1 new gTLD domain name can be submitted daily per 1 Namepros user.
2. This thread is related to new gTLD domain names only - I can not give you my opinion about .com, .net, org or ccTLD names like .de or .co.uk names, as I do not have enough direct experience with them.
3. I am not responsible for any damages related to my advice - it is only my personal opinion, although I will really try my best to give reasonable, and well-balanced opinion.
4. You can submit only domain name you personally own.
5. For security and privacy purposes, all names submitted and discussed in replies must be in
keyword(s) / gTLD extension format (for example royal / estate, or bestgames / online)
6. Comments/opinions/appraisals from other members on any name submitted here are very welcome :)

krake .club

Thanks in advance

Krake (German for "octopus") is a steel Dive Coaster roller coaster at Heide Park in Soltau, Lower Saxony, Germany manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard. It is the first roller coaster of its kind in Germany. At a cost of 12 million euros, the roller coaster features floorless trains, 476 m (1,562 ft) of track, and a maximum height of 41 m (135 ft). The attraction officially opened to the public on April 16, 2011.

Imo the keyword ""krake" is extremely weak from investment point if view - It is available in all new gTLD extensions - so I do not see how this can work for any profit. There are only very few end users for this one, and they have so many alternatives...

I have the same remark as in previous post: you as a domain owner are at the moment not-contactable - if I would be interested in this domain name, I can not find contact details in WHOIS (GDPR effect) and I can not find contact details when I visit the webpage. So if you want to have at least some chances to sell the domain, you need to make a landing page with contact details.

Many people seem to forget that after GDPR, most common source of leads, WHOIS database, is not usable anymore.

Investment / Money

Yes, I have checked that after the DNS changed to afternic, it looks solid now :)

The renewal seems to be premium, around USD 110 at many registrars.

It was first registered at early gTLD times in March 2015. Then someone holded it for 3 years, then it was recently dropped and OP registered it almost immediately after it got available for registration again, a week ago.

investment_money.PNG

As for the value: there are some more or less close alternatives in new gTLD space still available to register. But luckily for this domain, all of the alternatives which makes some good sense are pretty expensive.

For example, we can get keyword "investment" in .website for 440/year, in .market for 3300 / year, in .store for 5500 / year, in .site for &11 000 / year - looking through this optics, it seems like 110/year for .money is not that bad deal. And very similar combo, investment / finance, is available for 900 / year.

Above high renewals for possible alteanatives in new gTLD space are very good argument which you can use when potential buyer will contact you to justify your price. Of course, if someone is going through hassle of buying the domain from domain investor (because, lets face it, it is often a hassle considering how some domain owners act) they will be of course looking for a good deal, so price which will be better deal comparing to options which are still available to register.

Because of that, I feel that well justified price range can be somewhere between 4k-8k..where probability to sell for this price is around 1% for any given year of holding. This means that projected profit for any given year is is between 40-80, while cost of hodling is 110. This is slightly not in favour of domain investor imo.

So the name is nice, and has potential, but that renewal makes it not so easy to hold for years and years. And one need to hold easily to be able to reject low offers with confidence..many investors have already learned that it is not easy to be firm at pricing, when high renewals are eating investor's profit every years.
Still, nice name :)

Nude / chat

This domain is ideal to adult industry.

The renewal fee is USD220. Is it a great domain?

Thanks for your advice in advance!

Nude / chat

It is indeed a nice domain! I am myself not shy of adult domains so I can appreciate it:)

The domain has around USD 220 renewal at most registrars. It was first registered in May 2015, someone holded it for 1 year, then it was dropped. It then stayed unregistered for next 7 months (it is a nice name, so reason is imo that higher renewal), and then it was picked by OP in Feb 2017.

nude.chat.PNG

First thing which maybe some people do not know (I did not know before I tried to reach out) is that online adult industry is stil very much traffic driven. They do not care much about brandability of their sites, it is just traffic, traffic and traffic.I was also much surprised that are simply in many instances not willing to try new things...they have their proven ways of doing things and they do it for years like that.

In addition, people who are succesful in adult online business typically know everything about domain names. They are not dumb, they can can calculate what the investment will bring them. So unless nude / chat is a huge traffic atractor (one should test it ), it will be very tough resell.

Another thing worth mentioning is that it can be sometimes litlte unclear who you would deal with - people in adult industry usually has lower transparency then in other industries. So you will deal with some "Mike" or "Lucinda"...it is not that usual business connection (Name, Surname, Company, etc) with high level of transparency one is used to do at sites like LinkedIn. Anyway, this is my personal experience so far and experience of someone else may be different.

As per value, I feel this should go for 3k-15k with probability of resale for this price range 1% at any given year of holding. This makes projected profit 30-150 per any given year, while holding cost is 220 per year.

I do not feel it is probable to expect higher price here, as highest .chat sale reported so far was chat / chat for 20k, while strip / chat (which is similar quality domain to nude / chat) was sold for 3k, which I used as lower appraisal range.

Considering how difficult is to resale domains to adult industry, and the renewal fee, I feel the ods here are sharply not in favour of domain investor for this one.

Landlords/Group
Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

Landlords / Group

The domain name has standard renewal for .group extension, which is around 15-20 at many registrars.
It was first registered at Jun 2018 (a week ago) by OP. It was never registered before that.

I understand where you are coming from with this one, but truth is that if someone wants to do some webpage in relation to landlords, they can go for another 220 gTLDs where this string 'landlords' is still unregistered, at the time of writing this.

For example, they can get landlords / company for 1,99, landlords / website for 0,99, landlords / live for 1,99, landlords / zone for 1,99, landlords / agency for 3.88, and tons of other (basically pretty good) alternatives to your domain name, almost for nothing. To check it, one can visit uniregistry.com, and insert string 'landlords' to search field.

Because of this large amount of close alternaves, you will have no leverage to ask end user for any premium which would bring you a profit. As you have already invested into it, it is good to try with your current BIN (2000) which is imo a reasonable price for someone who would really need exactly this string with .group.

I just would like to clarify: no one can really say with certainty that such name can NOT sell for 2000 - it can happen, but probability of this is almost close to 0, considering plenty of cheap and close alternatives listed above. I would advice, try to sell the name for 1 year, but when renewal comes, send your money to something better - string 'landlords' is not going to deliver, imo.

awards / photography

awards / photography

Small remark: when I visit the site, there is only blank page with simple message:"This domain is currently not approved for CashParking." Because your contact details are not anymore present in WHOIS database, you are un-contactable seller at the moment - potential buyer has no way to reach you, so that should be probably corrected asap.

As for domain itself: the domain name has standard renewal attached to it, which is around 15-20 at many registrars.

It is a high quality domain combo. It was first registered in very early new gTLD times (February 2014), then it was holded for 3 years by someone. Then it was dropped, and after 3 months gap registered by OP.

Personally, I love the name. There are lot of photographers, pool of end user is very large. It sounds great.
Some people might say that they would prefer photography / awards, in that order, but we do not have .awards new gTLD extension, so this is as good as it can get.

As per value, I would not recommend to expect much, as end user here will be typically some artist or photographer, and they as well can go for many alternatives when it comes to string 'awards'.

I feel this is 2k-3k for most end users, probability of resale for this price 1% for any given year of holding. But with this standard renewal, I think it will work out, and it will be profitable (projected profit for any given year 20-30, holding cost 15-20). So not big money maker imo, but odds are slightly shifted in favour of domain investor.

Thanks Darren for your nice words. Well I do this also for myself, as it is a good mental exercise and by checking details of names other people registered I am also learning something small everyday, and it gives me tons of inspiration. No names are skipped or lost in this thread jungle, I track them all, I am just little slow, and always process names in order they were submitted, so it happens that one can wait few days..but I am getting there! Thank you :).

Thanks for your advice and let us know that the adult industry focuses more on traffic than brandability. I think the industry players cannot market and promote their brands to the public easily, so they rely on keywords to get traffic. In my opinion, "nude chat" is a widely used term and has lots of search results in Google that can help gain traffic and attract potential users.

I agree with you that the selling price of strip / chat is used as the lower bound because imo "nude chat" is more common than "strip chat" in most countries. Hopefully nude / chat can be sold at 5-digit USD.

blackjack / credit

I mainly stick to .life but picked this up a couple of months back.

blackjack / credit

On the first hearing, that sounds nice, but at second though, who is going to be an end user for this one? :)
Unless there is a credit provider specialising to blackjack credits (and there is nothing like that, in reality), this domain makes no semantic sense.

And with .credit standard renewal of 80 at many registrars, this is not going to work, unfortunately

I think (unless I really miss something very important here) that blackjack /credit is a very good example of pizza / elephant domain name type of investments, which I have described in detail in small article here.
Both blackjack and credit are very strong keywords, but they simply does not make much of sense together.

Maybe casino / credit would be little more valuable, but even that is large stretch of imagination when it comes to end user who would need it.

Thanks for the input mate. My thought process was lines of credit for casino gaming - there are a number of companies that are already offering this. I also picked slots / credit. Renewal fee is a pain on these, that's why I only picked a few. A bit of test as I hadn't purchased .credit prior.

Nice thread (y)

connecticut / design

connecticut / design has standard renewal for .design, which is around 40-50 at many registrars.

The name was first registered a month ago, May 2018. It was not previously registered or dropped.

As for pool of end users, this is very limited by using GEO keyword 'connecticut'. And it has to be someone who is in design area. This double restriction of end user pool very much reminds me situation around domain boston / media (check the feedback for it at post #93 where I gave more details).

Is this going to be an profitable investment? I feel realistic resale price would be 600-2k with probability of resale 1% for this price at any given year of holding (and this probability only in case you actively focus on end users from Connecticut). This projected profit in this case would be 6-20, while holding cost per year is 40-50.

This domain's odds for a profit is imo sharply against the domain investor holding it.

I actually think it is not bad idea to test this for a year, as it costs only few bucks to pick them for first year, due to heavy registration promotions at most registrars for .credit (3,5-6 USD). And it is clever that you picked only few, because either they will perform during that first year (offers, traffic) or not - and if not, not big loss for a domain investor. I hope it will work out nicely :)

Livebet / casino

Forgive the pun,but I took a gamble on this one 😉

Livebet / casino has a standard renewal attached to it, which is around 120-150 at many registrars for .casino. It is definitely not cheapest extension to hold.

It was first registered few days ago by OP, in Jun 2018. It was not registered or dropped before.

The name kind of make sense, and although it is word1word2 name, I pretty much like it.
I feel it has resale potential in range of 2-7k with probability of resale within this range as as 1% for any year of holding. One can check namebio.com to see what .casino names sold recently.

Will this be a profitable investment if that above guesstimate is correct? The projected profit for any a year of holding is around 20-70, while holding cost is 120-150 for each year of holding. This is the reason why I think this is not going to perform well as an investment for domainer holding it. Still, it is a nice name, so if you want to give it a try, why not :) But the odds of this gamble are not in your favour.

Thanks for your reply and yes I must agree with you being a 2 word in a yet untested extension, the pros of this extension is that it will mainly be industry with deep pockets and this extension is a specific niche that I can see gaming companies embrace over time ,keywords relative to this niche are imperative for any hope of sale with a decent return ,i was lucky enough to pick up oceans.casino which I’m quite happy to pay for for the next ten years as this is advertising gold for a casino on or offline and I would expect to see a large offer on this in the future .Once again thanks for your time .PS I picked up Robusta.club after reading earlier posts .

the requests are coming in thick and fast! Brilliant thread!

agriculture / tips

When I visit the site, I see :
The domain name
agriculture / tips
is misconfigured

The owner of this domain is using the nameserver configuration of Undeveloped but has not listed this domain yet.

And when I visit WHOIS to check the contact details of the owner, they are not there, due to the fact that GDPR legislation is already in place, so most details were removed from there. This mean that at the moment typical end user has no way to contact you.

Domain was first registered in early gTLD times at March 2014, then expired after a year, then again registered, then expired after a year, then it seems to stay unregistered for longer time, and OP has it since Jun 2018.

I personally like the combo, it can be very useful for plenty of end users. It has standard renewal 15-22 at many registrars.

Unfortunately for the resale value, there are lot of good and pretty close alternatives available to gTLD space at the time of writing. End user can get this string for 0,99 at .website, 1,99 at .fyi, 6.5 at .care, 6.5 at .delivery, 36.30 at .exchange, .supply, .supplies, etc (check at uniregistry.com for example).

Considering those more or less close alternatives, but also that it is a nice combo, I would appraise it around 800-1500 with probability of resale in this range as 1% for any given year of holding. Therefore projected profit per year is 8-15, while cost is 15-22. This makes odds of profit not in favour of domain investor.

Thank you for the kind words and I wish you some nice sales with new gTLDs. You are right that casino industry has extremely deep pockets, so in case they will like some of your domain names, this can lead for a huge sale. GL :)
