This thread is a central location to report domain name sales of any dollar amount.

As much information as you can include about the transaction is welcome, but at a bare minimum please include the domain name(s), the sale price, and whether you were the seller.

Good luck with your sales!

Please use the Like and Thank links on a post to indicate that you like it or are thankful for it being shared.

Do not post only, "great sale" or similar as this doesn't contribute to the thread. (Don't reply for the sole purpose of complimenting.)
  • Tip: Use the Like/Thanks feature instead.

Questions are allowed, but do not post commentary. If you want to discuss or comment on a sale in this thread, quote it and then post it in the following thread instead:

Hai Guys!

Iz been a long time since I've posted here, but I'm always happy when I get to :tightlyclosedeyes:

I recently sold:
upload_2018-6-7_22-33-32.png

Total spent: $8 to $10
Venue: Whois (Inbound)
My initial offer: $743
Final price: $743 (with stipulations, see below)

A long, long time ago, in a far, far galaxy, The DomFam offered these legendary sails. They were indeed OP -- unlimited reggae for $1.71 (after coupons). The few Jedi who went on these legendary sails were able to create hundreds and thousands of gems. Some of these gems were duds, while some shone brightly into the night's sky and were desired by many who paid hundreds to thousands of dollars to acquire them.

Now, many years later, the rare gems created by these Jedi still prop up now and then, exchanged for high sums on the market. I had the kismet to go on one of these legendary sails... and that's how I came to own said domain.

When I asked in chat, fellow members gave mixed responses tending toward, "meh not so good." At first I tried auctioning the domain on NP with a mere $2 start. No bites. When it was about to expire, I bregudgingly renewed it via transfer, because I still somewhat believed in its value.

And my faith paid off! Only two months before its next expiration, I received an offer via email from the technician of a semi-huge organization. He said his org wanted to the domain for a video production and design company.

I asked for $743. He went silent. After a few days, I sent a follow-up email. He replied a few days later saying their org doesn't have the funds for the domain, but maybe in a few months after their ventures took off, they would be able to purchase it.

I really didn't want to renew the domain again, and I was willing to take $100 for it or less (blame it on NP's influence). I mean, we're talking about two years with only 1 offer.

So I emailed back trying to make conversation, asking about the company and how the domain fit. He replied with info and openness, and according to Jedi Jaco, this was a sign that they were super interested in buying the domain.

I asked how much their budget was for the domain, they replied with $150. I then offered them an ultimatum: I'd accept $210 down payment, and the other $533 would be paid once their ventures have generated surplus revenue.

After a week and Memorial Day festivities were over, he replied ecstatically. He asked for the auth code and said he would send the PayPal today too if I wanted. ("IF I WANTED." lol)

I sent the auth code over, and in 2 hours, $210 arrived in my PayPal (unfortunately it was business and not friends & family, so :/)

I replied with many thanks, and confirmed that there's a balance of $533 left. And he confirmed.

Now I wait for the rest to come in :). I view it like some kind of CD bank investment where I didn't even have to put in an initial deposit.

I guess the takeaway is: If you're not noob (well ok I'm still noob :P), then don't let NP opinions cloud your own. If you truly believe in a domain you've reggaed, then renew it!

I would have leased them the domain while was waiting for the rest of the payment, so the domain would still resolve their website, but they were not in full ownership of the name until full funds had cleared.

I'm afraid giving any kind of payment plan would've spooked them into not acquiring the domain straight away. And if you let them wait months, they may lose interest -- which is what I've seen happen to so many people here.

I figured I'd take a hot sale over no sale with the chance of half a thousand more dollars, rather than be left renewing the domain and hoping they still want the domain months later.

I started domaining full time in October 2017, and nearly 200 domains (mostly shitty of course) and 8000 USD later sold my first domain here on Namepros in feb 2018 (at loss)

October 2017 to January 2018

1 Sale, 0 Profit

Domain : CryptoRates.io
Purchase Price : $60 for a set of 8 domains (5-6 of which were useless)

(I listed all 8 domains each on BIN price equal to the registration cost, thinking that even registration cost would give me nearly double the investment. But only the best domain sold. And that was a mistake, now I understand and regret. It was worth low $xxx even for resellers)

However I have namepros account 9 years old, Also Godaddy, SEDO, Flippa accounts similarly aged, Because I once was an amateur domainer without any strategy, I bought poor domains, held them, either sold them for loss or expired them. Then I went to a job.
Recently I quit job again for Blogging. Lost a lot of time. Started domaining in October 2017.

My purchase platforms has a lot of variety, tested almost every platform in including "NamePal" (you got the joke)
Similarly I have sold (or selling) on every platform too, SEDO, Afternic, Flippa, Undeveloped, Uniregistry, Godaddy, Namepros, Brandbucket, Brandpa and recently outreach.

Since End of May 2018, I have hired an employee and started outreach and testing got 1 sale and a couple of negotiations so far.

June 2018 Target is $5000 in sales with $2500 in profit
That should answer a lot of questions.

And Thanks a lot to all Name pros. I shamelessly asked as many questions, as I had. And you may also ask me anything.

congs on the sale, do you mind sharing which me in PM tools you use for outbound. Thanks

With the help of the Internet search engines (mostly Google) I'm looking for websites offering to sell goods (services) that are identical to that from the keyword in my domain. It is desirable to find them as much as possible.

Second phase is extracting email addresses from that websites. It is recommended to be addresses of the company's owner or someone in their management.

And lastly, I’m sending an offer for the sale of domain name (with or without a specific price) to each of the email addresses individually.
