What is required to keep the business operational?

The business is super easy to run. My partner and I spent less than 5 hours a week each on it. Most domains are parked or have their personal sale page where potential buyers can submit offers. We listed some domains on Sedo and other sites but most sales came from our website directly.

Running the site includes: checking emails for inbound offers, negotiate with potential buyers, list domains on market places (not mandatory), hunt for more domains when new GTLDs come out and update site when a domain sells or when new domains are acquired.

-------------------------

Why are you selling the business?

My partner got a new contract with the Canadian army far away and I went back to school.

-------------------------

How does the business generate revenue?

The business generates revenue via domain sales. More services could be offered like domain brokerage and domain consulting via our website but that would require more weekly hours.

-------------------------

Revenue

2015: $63,247
2016: $44,755
2017: $59,200

-------------------------

Traffic

2017: 14,600 unique / 23,400 page views
Last 6 months: 4,504 unique / 6,025 page views

-------------------------

Are there any expenses for the business? If so, what are they?

• Website hosting: $35/month

• Domain name renewals: $1,803.11/year

About $150/month

-------------------------

Which platform does the website use?

• Squarespace

• Escrow and PayPal (for domain sale transactions)

-------------------------

We work hard to provide excellent customer service, please feel free to let us know if you have any questions or suggestions.

Happy bidding everyone!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
So a couple questions here-
1) Why are you selling a site where you are selling about $50,000 worth of domains a year, at a cost of $2-$3,000 or so, a year? (Seems it could be run by just one person, even if they were going back to school.)
2) Why are so many of the domains you note that you sold on your site, unregged now, or never were?
3) Seems you have been very successful selling new gtlds, something that is alluding so many others, and get a lot of 'nice' offers that you reject. So why would you abandon such a successful selling venture?

Just curious, as it seems perplexing you'd be selling a site that you've found the success formula that seems to allude so many others in this industry.

1. Because the revenue isn't recurring and past revenue doesn't represent future revenue
2. Most of the sales came from offers made from our site directly, some on GoDaddy and Flippa
3. It still takes time to manage and my partner being in the army with no Internet it doubles my time so 10-15 hours a week, I go to school, play in 2 football teams, really into cryptos, and started a weed related company with higher long term potential.

Any other concerns? Oh and yes we're selling this really under what we should but that's in your advantage not ours ;)

What the hell, $10....
Seems like you are just selling a small portfolio and many of the domains dont really have a target audience.

(BTW - Run these domains against Godaddy appraisal and then post the value.)

Selling the business as a whole not just the domains, branding, logo, site, social sites, etc. Currently discussing with 4-5 potential buyers on Flippa.

But thanks for the heads up.

Cheers!
