I should hope so too bad I allready paid too much for privacy last year. The cost of registration is up so not really free but ok. Notice they didn’t offer this until after ICANN changes :xf.rolleyes: they need to not toot their own horn so loudly. NameSilo gave it first and cared about my privacy first 👏

Not impressed. Other registrars offered it already. And after GDPR who really cares

A few days before GDPR I was on live chat with Godaddy support trying to solve some transfer issue. At the end the guy tried to sell me privacy for my domains.
I have told him that I'm aware of the fact that GDPR will be implemented in a few days and after that we finished very fast! :punch:

This was one reason why I never left domains names at NameCheap for more than 1 year. I guess I will consider keeping names there now that privacy is free.

Public. Yes.

Also, privacy at Godaddy isn't free yet.

Thanks!
Currently, I'm with namecheap, so if I want private whois, their privacy for life, appears to be a good deal. Although, they seem to have raised their .com renewal rate $2 to $12.98/yr

$4 cheaper at Namesilo and Epik (for Epik you can get the domainer discount rate.)

I haven't registered a domain with NC or GD for almost a year now, so not sure. But I think NC now provides free privacy. That should help. Although the renewal prices are a bit high for sure.

I prefer Namesilo & Dynadot over NC, Enom and GD.

Thanks, I'll check them out...
How do I get the domainer discount rate, for Epik? ;)
Do any of them offer free privacy for life like NC?

NS & Dynadot offer free privacy till the date domain is with them. Don't know much about Epik.

Epik's CEO Rob or one of the reps can get you the discount if you ask here. They offer free privacy as long as the domain is registered. (y)

I took a quick look at NS, Dynadot & Epik and their pricing...
Registration:
Epik cheapest $8.49
NS $8.99
Dyn $8.99

Transfers:
NS $8.39 + 1 yr extension
Epik $8.49 (Did not see 1 yr extension), $90 Redeem Price
Dyn $8.99 + 1 yr extension

Renewals:
NS $8.99
Epik $35.00
Dyn $8.99

NS appears to be under new ownership. To me, all positive history is null & void until, time tells what new ownership will be like.

Epik would wipe me out with the $35.00 Renewals. And question on Transfers, what is "Redeem Price"?

That leaves Dynadot, whose name is the only one of the 3 that's familiar, to me, and their prices seem reasonable but, I don't know anything else about them.

What, other than price, do you all take into account, when registrar shopping?
