discuss Domain names / Intellectual Property

This past week I was looking for a schedule in one of the filings of a company we work with and I noticed a list of domain names. They were presented as intellectual property. I took a quick look at the list of about 25 names and was appalled. They looked similar to a list of newbie handregs - hyphenated domains in alternative extensions, long three -word domains some not even .Com and even the .com domains did not have the sort of WOW factor we are used to seeing on weekly DNj reports. Who selected those names and what was their thought process? Yet they were listed as assets of the company.

So it occurred to me that even with GDPR now limiting Whois data one could probably look at public filings of companies, review their 10K or similar reports and possibly find a list of domain names the company owns. Regardless it is still sad how companies do not take the domain selection process more seriously.
