I've had All/Crypto/Games/ . (com) listed on Sedo for only about a month now. I set it at "make an offer" and I received a $500 offer... I actually took some time to develop the domain, so I feel as though it's worth more than $500, especially because Crypto domains in general are still very hot. Any thoughts on what I should do? Am I being greedy not taking the offer? Should I counter?

Thanks in advance!

If you're developing, unless you really need the money I wouldn't take it. Build and you'll get way more value.

Yes, i think. Unless you want to find this thread the potential buyer, i highly recommend you to hide the name and reveal it again after transaction. Cheers!

I was thinking the same thing. I'd like to develop it more, although my skills with development are limited. I don't need the money by any means right now, so I'll probably hold off. Thanks for your input.

Price too low. Nice domain name and developed. I should expect minimum $2000. Crypto domains are hot right now. Just sold tokenlists/king (domain only) for $2400

Thanks for your feedback. I thought about countering as well. I may end up developing the site more. Not sure yet. Nice sale. Did you sell tokenlists on Sedo or another site?

Counter with $5K, see what happens. If someone starts with $500 I bet he's willing to go up at least 3-4 times above that (probably more).

Hope this helps

Thanks for the advice. I've never received an offer before, so this is new territory for me.

That's a good starting offer imo.
All I've had were lowballs. When I countered they were like "that's our max budget "or "good luck then."
I'm like, ok then time to move on because I was not happy with accepting those offers.
If you are not happy and do not need the $500 then I would counter and see what they come back with.
If you're happy with it,accept it and make the sale.
If you do not make a sale then move on to the future developement of your site and try to resell in the future.

Good luck!:xf.smile:

If you change your mind and decide to sell you can also push it to auction on Sedo.

Did you sell tokenlis !tokenlists-com-escrow1.png ts on Sedo or another site?

No, tokenlists/king was sold via my private marketplace - NameCape.com

I just posted the sale info here with prove https://www.namepros.com/threads/report-completed-domain-name-sales-here.83628/page-614#post-6739274

I sell on Sedo once in a blue moon, Sedo is too congested for my domains to gain tangible exposure. By the way, tokenlists was simultaneously listed on Sedo, GoDaddy and NameCape,com
and I've had to delete it from other platforms after the sale.

P.S.
Since you have the acumen for registering liquid domain names, I'll recommend you set up your own private marketplace. It gives you more control and flexibility and, from what I'm experiencing right now, more sales.

The good news is you have an offer of $500 for a domain you likely paid reg fee for. As well the initial offer is usually a pretty good indication of the buyer 's willingness to negotiate. So they might be willing to go up to $1500.

On the other hand it is easy to get excited about an offer, develop unrealistic expectations and then lose the deal. If you had crypto.com you could easily walk away knowing another bidder would be right around the corner. Unfortunately this is the type of name i would expect to see on an expiring domain list in a few years. So don't take this offer for granted. Regarding development plans - if you are not skilled in this area (which you admit you are not) and you are not passionate about the subject matter, your development efforts will likely generate compensation equivalent to third world wages. Hey I have been there but I do believe it is worthwhile to go through the experience of trying to develop a website -seeing the developer's perspective.

So my suggestion would be to counter at $1500 (hopefully not too high to scare them off) and be willing to settle for half that. Again, this is a three-word domain so there must be a myriad of possible alternative domains if you get greedy. Good luck in your negotiation.

Am I the only one who thinks some are over rating this domain significantly?

AllCrypto = Big name
CryptoGames = Big name
AllGames = Big name

But ...
AllCryptoGames = Take the $500 and run. Or at the most make a VERY reasonable counter (certainly no more than the $1500 suggested above by @garptrader.

If you see more value in development then YOU ARE the end user and you most certainly should keep it if you think it will make you more than $500.

Remember this is a domaining forum .. $500 for the specific domain in question certainly is a fair offer for the domain alone. If the potential buyer found you through Sedo then he/she very likely has no interests in the actual website .. and as such accords zero extra $$$ as a premium above the domain name itself.

Best of luck with it! :)

it's not enough
after commission up to 20%
and when you are in germany
it's minus 19% VAT

If you are willing to sell a name, always counter an offer whatever the offer may be. You may never know the potential buyer's spending capacity.

How much amount you counter depends on the domain, your judgement and interaction with the buyer. If buyer's response is not positive after a counter, negotiate as much as you can.

If the buyer is serious, you will get initial offer anyway. So there is no harm in negotiating and trying your luck.
