Hi Keith, I can see by your name servers that you're not using domainsales.app.... which is Not working at the moment.
example:

canna.app

I’m saying I didn’t purchase a ssl certificate at name.com but my .app forward. Maybe they included these with each registration?

I'm Not sure if name.com includes a free ssl cert. with their .app domains, but this threat is about using the tool from domainsales.app

I just did a test at name.com. When registering .app you need to add the ssl to your cart and pay extra for it. I didn’t do that but my domains forward fine.

The point I’m making is that it doesn’t seem like this “free tool” at domainsales.app is necessary.

To @Keith and anyone else using the service -

Domainsales.app is not working for some people and I can not fix at the moment due to a family emergency - I will fix as soon as possible.

Working my way back into the saddle starting today. Should have any issues with the .app SSL forwarding service fixed in the next day or so. Thanks for bearing with me.

3000+ sites forwarded so far.

Contact your landing company and encourage them to support SSL for .app (and all) domains so this service and my time/resources won't be needed!

@Undeveloped already took the initiative and support it, time for everyone else to catch up!

I'll be honest.... This has become more much more work than I ever expected as I received a much higher response than I expected. Keeping up with who is active, who is not, what certificates need to stay active. which sites and DNS entries need to be deleted, etc - is all more than I bargained for. I wrote a program to do this for me, but I did it fast and free and it has it's bugs.

I recently lost my father to stage 4 lung cancer and my free time is now limited. I believe I will be discontinuing this service soon. I will do my best to clean up those who left, and keep those who are using it active - but I honestly gain nothing from providing this service. This was done out of caring about this industry and trying to help. I will keep this going as long as I can for those that are already using it - but I plan on closing registration tomorrow and in the future may phase it out completely.

I hope the industry leaders who make money for providing landing services (Like @Undeveloped who did) will soon offer this service themselves. It is not only .app domains that need this - but all domains.

Step up companies. Us domainers keep you in business. Do us a solid for once and step up.

Thanks,
Mike.

First - I apologize for bringing my personal issues into my last post... I was having a rough day, but there was absolutely no reason for me to mention that or take the tone that I did.

I spent the night and today working on this and managed to locate a bug in the code that was not correctly deleting sites after people moved them away from my server, and the volume of invalid request was causing some SSLs to not be renewed. I have also located another bug where some sites were not setup to be auto-renewed as they should have been due to an update I had made with an invalid variable. These problems have been resolved - all sites should all be forwarding correctly and the automation should work correctly going forward.

I plan to continue offering this service to people who are already signed up – but have closed off new signups at the moment as I assess my commitment to this project.

No worries to anyone who has active sites using the service... 2030 .app sites are currently forwarding and will continue to forward for the foreseeable future.

(stats from after cleanup of removed sites)

Thanks,
Mike
